VinFast has recently filed for industrial design copyright registration for a brand new mini electric car model.
Based on the images in the September 2024 issue of the Industrial Property Gazette, it can be seen that VinFast’s new electric car model has two doors similar to the VF 3. However, the car is smaller than the VF 3.
In contrast to the boxy design of the VF 3, this younger sibling has a more compact and feminine design.
It is known that Joao Marcos de O. Ramos and Jae Hoon Lee, both former designers at major automotive brands such as Ford, Volkswagen, General Motors, and Hyundai, will be the creative minds behind this new electric car model.
VinFast has not yet released any information about this new mini electric car. However, the fact that it has been registered for design copyright in Vietnam indicates that its launch date is not far off.
Back in 2023, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong had hinted at the release of an ultra-compact and affordable car by the end of 2024. Many believed he was referring to the VF 3, but it seems that the mini electric car that was just registered for copyright could be the vehicle he intended.
