The “King of Coffee” Dang Le Nguyen Vu has recently added another classic car to his collection – a Porsche 930 Turbo. This marks the fourth Porsche 930 Turbo acquired by the prominent businessman.
Mr. Vu’s new Porsche 930 Turbo is finished in a sleek silver paint job. The car retains the traditional design cues of the Porsche family and the 911 lineage, featuring round, protruding headlights, an obliquely angled hood, and attractive five-spoke black wheels. A distinctive whale-tail-like large rear spoiler completes the look. For safety purposes, the 930 Turbos in Vietnam are also fitted with two protruding details on the rear bumper.
The interior of the Porsche 930 Turbo is swathed in black leather throughout. The cabin design is minimalist, showcasing the Porsche DNA with its sporty steering wheel and the iconic set of five circular gauges characteristic of the Porsche 911 series. This minimalist approach to the interior design is intentional, aiming to enhance the driver’s focus on the driving experience.
The Porsche 930 Turbo, also affectionately known as the 911 Turbo by car enthusiasts, was produced from 1975 to 1989. It was the leading 911 model of its time, both during its production run and at its introduction.
During its lifespan, the Porsche 930 Turbo underwent two main phases. In the first phase, from 1975 to 1977, only 2,819 units were produced, powered by a 3.0L engine. The second phase, from 1978 to 1989, saw the production of 18,770 cars, equipped with a more powerful 3.3L engine.
Under the hood of this Porsche 930 Turbo lies a turbocharged, 6-cylinder 3.3L engine that delivers an impressive 282 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 412 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This powerhouse enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
