Subaru dealers in Ho Chi Minh City have started taking reservations for the Crosstrek SUV. Previously, this model was sold in Vietnam under the name Subaru XV, but now it will be renamed Crosstrek, aligning with other markets such as the US, Thailand, and Japan.
The 2024 Crosstrek introduced in Vietnam will be almost identical to the current international version. Its dimensions are 4,480 x 1,800 x 1,580 mm (length x width x height), slightly longer than competitors like the Toyota Corolla Cross (4,460 mm) and Kia Seltos (4,365 mm).

The front end features a bold design with large plastic claddings, slim headlights connected by a chrome strip, and a 3D hexagonal grille pattern. The fog lights are round and substantial, framed by “fang-like” surrounds.
The rear lights of the 2024 Crosstrek will feature a “boomerang” design similar to the Forester. This SUV rides on 17- or 18-inch wheels, and it’s not yet clear which configuration will be offered in Vietnam.
The Subaru Crosstrek 2024 is likely to be equipped with symmetrical all-wheel-drive technology and a horizontally opposed boxer engine. This will make the Crosstrek the most powerful SUV in its class, rivaling even some C-segment SUVs.

If it’s similar to the Thai-spec model, the Crosstrek could be powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 154 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque. The hybrid version combines a 2.0-liter engine (145 horsepower) with an electric motor that adds 13 horsepower and 65 Nm, paired with a CVT.
Pricing and trim level details for Vietnam are not yet available. According to a sales consultant, the Subaru Crosstrek will be launched in Vietnam in October, with deliveries starting in early 2025.
However, given its Japanese origins, the 2024 Crosstrek is unlikely to be priced below 900 million VND. Six years ago, the same model was introduced in Vietnam as the Subaru XV, with a price range of 1.5 billion VND.
Competitors in the Vietnamese market include the Toyota Corolla Cross (starting at 755 million VND), Mazda CX-3 (649 million VND), Hyundai Creta (640 million VND), and Kia Seltos (649 million VND).
