The Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is set to unveil an all-new concept car at the upcoming 2024 Philippines International Motor Show (PIMS) opening on October 24. Ahead of its debut, Mitsubishi has released an official teaser image of the highly anticipated vehicle.
While the name of this mysterious concept remains undisclosed, it is speculated that it will be called the Mitsubishi DST Concept.
Positioned as a seven-seater SUV, the DST Concept is expected to enter the commercial production stage in the future. Rumors suggest that it is based on the platform of the Mitsubishi XForce and Xpander. In simpler terms, it is likely an extended version of the Mitsubishi XForce, which is currently available in the Vietnamese market.
The teaser images released by Mitsubishi offer a glimpse into the front and rear design of the vehicle. True to the brand’s heritage, the DST Concept will feature the distinctive Dyanmic Shield design language. At the front, the SUV boasts a large honeycomb-patterned grille, reminiscent of its sibling, the Mitsubishi Outlander. The headlamp design, on the other hand, takes on a “T”-shaped form, similar to that of the Mitsubishi XForce.
Adding to its sporty appeal are the hood creases, enlarged wheel arches, and extended fenders. The proximity of the junction between the body and the rear door to the trunk indicates that the DST Concept will be slightly smaller than its counterpart, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Moreover, the vehicle’s C-pillar is notably thick and adorned with four horizontal grooves.

Although details about the interior and engine specifications are yet to be disclosed, it is speculated that the DST Concept will feature a similar engine to the Mitsubishi Xforce and Xpander. If this holds true, the SUV will be powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated MIVEC four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. This engine is likely to be paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.
The decision to debut the DST Concept at PIMS 2024 underscores Mitsubishi’s commitment to the Southeast Asian market. According to the automaker, the unveiling of this seven-seater concept in the Philippines will “emphasize the brand’s dedication to its ASEAN customers.”
With the DST Concept, Mitsubishi is poised to offer a unique proposition in the region’s automotive landscape—a seven-seater SUV based on a passenger car platform. The commercial release date for this exciting new model has not yet been announced.
