Back in April 2023, the Skoda brand revealed plans to launch an all-new electric vehicle named Elroq to replace the older Karoq. After more than a year, the Skoda Elroq has finally been introduced to the European market.

Similar to the Skoda Karoq currently sold in Vietnam, this all-new electric vehicle also belongs to the C-segment SUV category. Accordingly, it has dimensions of 4,488 mm in length, 1,884 mm in width, 1,625 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,765 mm. Compared to the Karoq, the Skoda Elroq is 98 mm longer, while the wheelbase has been extended by 127 mm.

The Skoda Elroq showcases the Modern Solid design language with a Tech-Deck Face at the front. Here, the vehicle is equipped with a closed black grille to cover the sensors and front camera.

Flanking this grille are thin LED daytime running lights that double as turn signals, reminiscent of the Mitsubishi Xpander. Meanwhile, below lies a horizontal set of headlights connected to vertical air intakes.

Additionally, the Elroq sports a hood with embossed lines and a raised “Skoda” lettering instead of the brand’s logo. The front bumper incorporates a large central air intake with an active shutter system for improved aerodynamics and cooling.

On the sides, the Skoda Elroq boasts prominent character lines that connect the front and rear wheel arches, along with 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant.

At the rear, the vehicle is fitted with sharp taillights and two vertical air vents.

To enhance its robust appearance, Skoda has outfitted the electric SUV with black design elements, including the front and rear bumpers, wheel arch cladding, and side skirts. According to Skoda, the Elroq boasts an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.26 Cd.

Inside, the Skoda Elroq embraces a minimalist design aesthetic. The driver is greeted by a sporty, flat-bottomed steering wheel featuring the “Skoda” lettering in place of the brand’s logo.

Alongside it sits a small digital instrument cluster…

… a centrally mounted 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a head-up display.

Another highlight is the voice control system, Laura, integrated with ChatGPT technology, enabling drivers to operate the infotainment, navigation, and climate control systems. Moreover, it can respond to a range of common questions.

Although most functions can be controlled via the touchscreen, Skoda has retained physical buttons and a simplified gear selector for this electric vehicle. Other features include a floating center console, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting,…

… and seats upholstered in sustainable materials like RecyTitan fabric or TechnoFil.

To ensure practicality, Skoda has included storage solutions such as door compartments, a rear passenger compartment, and a class-leading cargo area.

The cargo area offers a generous standard capacity of 470 liters, expandable to 1,580 liters by folding down the rear seats.

Built on the MEB platform, the Skoda Elroq offers various powertrain options. The base model, Elroq 50, features a rear-mounted electric motor producing 168 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This setup enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h. Equipped with a 55 kWh battery, the Elroq 50 delivers an impressive range of 375 km on a single charge.

The Elroq 60 variant gets a more powerful electric motor generating 201 hp and 310 Nm of torque. As a result, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. Meanwhile, the 63 kWh battery provides a range of 400 km.

At the top of the range is the Elroq 85, delivering 282 hp and 545 Nm of torque. This model can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h. Equipped with an 82 kWh battery, it offers an exceptional range of 581 km on a single charge. Skoda has also confirmed plans to introduce the Elroq 85x, featuring dual electric motors and all-wheel drive, in the future.

The Skoda Elroq supports fast DC charging with power outputs of 145 kW, 165 kW, and 175 kW, depending on the variant. Notably, the 82 kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes using a fast charger.

In the UK market, the Skoda Elroq starts at £31,500 (approximately 1.029 billion VND). According to Skoda, it is the “most affordable electric car in its segment when considering battery size and standard equipment.”
