Putting aside the discussions, the Cybertruck has proven to be a successful product for Elon Musk and his team in terms of sales performance over the past two years.
In July, the Cybertruck was the best-selling vehicle in the US among those priced above $100,000, outperforming competitors from Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. According to data from Kelly Blue Book, for every six vehicles sold in this price range, one of them is a Cybertruck.
The Cybertruck’s sales figures are impressive, even outpacing those of other internal combustion engine and electric pickup trucks that are more reasonably priced.
Previously, as of June 6, 2024, Tesla had delivered 11,668 Cybertrucks to customers, according to Qctt. This number likely surpassed the 12,000 mark by the end of the first quarter.

When compared to other electric pickup trucks in the market, such as the Ford F-150 Lightning (7,902 units sold), GM Silverado EV (2,196 units), and GMC Hummer EV (2,929 units), the Cybertruck’s sales figures are significantly higher.
“The diversity and individuality that America is known for are also reflected in its car-buying trends,” said Erin Keating, executive analyst at Cox Automotive, explaining the Cybertruck’s success.
According to Carscoop, luxury pickup trucks in the US have become increasingly sophisticated and modern. However, at similar price points, consumers are choosing the Tesla Cybertruck over competitors, despite it offering less in terms of cabin amenities and technology. This has resulted in an 11% increase in Tesla’s average transaction price per vehicle compared to the previous year.
The Tesla Cybertruck is a testament to the strong brand affinity that Americans have for Tesla and perhaps, specifically, Elon Musk. Whenever Tesla launches a new vehicle, no matter how expensive or unconventional it may seem, it generates media buzz and tops sales charts.
