Veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic splashed out £775,000 on a Ferrari SF90 XX Spider as a birthday gift to himself.
The former Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain star has never been shy about his love for expensive cars. This is evident from his annual tradition of buying himself a supercar to celebrate his birthday. And for his 43rd birthday, Ibrahimovic treated himself to a limited-edition Ferrari SF90 XX Spider, which costs a whopping £775,000. He proudly unveiled his new ride on social media with the caption, “Happy Birthday Zlatan.”
Introduced in 2005, the exclusive XX upgrade program is Ferrari’s way of offering something special to a very select group of their most valued clients. Cars bearing the XX moniker in their name are the result of meticulous technological research, supervised and managed by Ferrari engineers.
The Ferrari SF90 XX Spider boasts enhanced aerodynamics thanks to the air intake above the cockpit and a fixed rear spoiler, while the active rear wing is also retained. These modifications generate 530 kg of downforce at 240 km/h, a significant improvement over the 390 kg of the standard SF90 Stradale.
Additionally, the XX version features lowered headlights, a stretched rear end reminiscent of racing cars, and a horizontal bar taillight instead of the standard round double lights. Ibrahimovic’s Ferrari SF90 XX Spider sports a black exterior with contrasting red accents throughout.
Under the hood, the Ferrari SF90 XX Spider is equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors, producing a combined output of 1,016 horsepower, an increase of 30 hp over the standard model. According to Ferrari, the SF90 XX Spider can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km/h. The car utilizes a 7.9 kWh battery that enables an all-electric range of approximately 25 km, similar to the standard SF90.
In addition to his new SF90 XX Spider, Ibrahimovic’s garage also includes other Ferrari models such as the £1.7 million Daytona SP3, the £1 million Monza, the Enzo, the F340, and even a 430 Spider.
The former AC Milan striker also owns supercars from other prestigious brands, including the Porsche Spyder, Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, and Lamborghini Urus.
