There has been a recent buzz in the community about Mr. Nguyên Long from Thanh Xuan, Hanoi, who shared his experience with his VinFast VF 9 encountering a battery-draining issue, and his less-than-satisfactory experience with the dealership’s support.

According to Mr. Long, he purchased the VF 9 at the end of July this year. Prior to this, he already owned two gasoline-powered vehicles from the same brand, the Lux A and Lux SA.

Over the course of more than a month of using the VF 9, Mr. Long noticed that the electric vehicle’s battery was draining faster than what was advertised by the manufacturer, leading him to suspect a fault in the battery and electric motor system. On September 4th, he brought the car to the dealership for warranty service. Since then, the car owner has been in constant communication with the dealership, but the situation has not seen much improvement.

Mr. Long shared that as of September 9th, he had visited the dealership four times, made 14 phone calls, and sent two emails, only to receive the response, “We have acknowledged and reported the issue to the concerned parties.”

Upon receiving information about Mr. Long’s case, VinFast promptly sent a representative to inspect and address the vehicle’s issues and to investigate the responsibilities of the involved parties in handling the car’s problems.

VinFast’s open letter to its customers

As a result, VinFast took decisive action by terminating four staff members who were negligent and delayed in responding to the customer’s service requests. The company also imposed the highest penalty on the distributor and service workshop according to the service standards committed in the distribution contract. Additionally, VinFast offered an apology to Mr. Nguyên Long for the delay in addressing the warranty issue.

In response to the company’s resolution, Mr. Long expressed his satisfaction and trust in the brand, stating that he will continue to use VinFast products.
