Earlier this year in February, a pre-owned Ferrari 296 GTB supercar was up for sale, quickly capturing the interest of car enthusiasts. The car, which was originally imported and delivered to its owner in January 2023, had only been enjoyed for a year before the Hanoi-based owner decided to part with it. Even more intriguing, the car still had six years of warranty and official maintenance remaining.

The Ferrari 296 GTB was initially offered for 23 billion VND, a price on par with a brand-new model. After eight months of enthusiastic marketing by the “hoa tieu,” the supercar has finally found its new owner. While the exact transaction price is unknown, it indicates that the pre-owned supercar market in Vietnam is not frozen.

The new owner of the Ferrari 296 GTB is a rather discreet entrepreneur. Interestingly, his garage already boasts an impressive collection of luxury cars, including Lamborghini, Mercedes (3 cars), Porsche, and Rolls-Royce, but until now, it lacked a Ferrari.

There are now over eight Ferrari 296 supercars in Vietnam, including both the GTB (coupe) and GTS (convertible) versions. All of these cars were officially imported and feature eye-catching colors such as blue, gray, yellow, and red.

The first Ferrari 296 GTB to arrive in Vietnam, recently purchased by a Ho Chi Minh City-based businessman, boasts a bold yellow exterior with black and silver accents. It is a standard model.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Ferrari 296 GTB is its plug-in hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.9-liter V6 engine with turbocharging. This marks the return of the V6 engine after a 50-year hiatus. The internal combustion engine produces a maximum output of 654 horsepower, while the electric motor adds an additional 164 horsepower.

The maximum torque produced by the internal combustion and electric motors in the 296 GTB is 425 Nm and 315 Nm, respectively. Combined, the plug-in hybrid system delivers an impressive 818 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.

The recently sold Ferrari 296 GTB can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h. As a plug-in hybrid, it can also travel up to 25 kilometers and reach a maximum speed of 135 km/h on electric power alone.

The Ferrari 296 GTB comes equipped with the eManettino feature, offering driving modes such as eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, and Qualify, along with standard Manettino settings like Sport, Race, CT off, and ESC off.
