The Vietnamese motorcycle market is abuzz with news of Honda’s upcoming launch as the year comes to a close. From the released images, it’s evident that the soon-to-be-introduced model is the Vario 160.

Not only has this upcoming launch caught the attention of consumers, but private Honda Vario 160 importers from Indonesia have also responded to the news that this model will soon be available through authorized dealers.

A survey of motorcycle dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province reveals that the current price of the Vario 160 is below 60 million VND. Specifically, the CBS brake version is priced at 52 million VND, while the ABS brake version costs 57.4 million VND across all color options.

Contacting another private import dealership in Long An province, our reporter observed similar pricing for the Vario 160, ranging from 55 to 60 million VND, depending on the model and color.

When the Vario 160 was first introduced in Vietnam in March, private import prices started at 74 million VND for the CBS version and 78 million VND for the ABS version. It appears that the price of this scooter has cooled down considerably with the news of its upcoming authorized distribution.

There is currently no official information on the authorized dealer price of the Honda Vario 160. It is likely that Honda Vietnam will position the Vario 160 above the Air Blade 160, implying a price range of around 60 million VND.

The Honda Vario 160 is powered by a single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 156.9 cc, generating 15.1 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Compared to its predecessor, the Vario 150, this model boasts upgraded performance and a refreshed exterior design.

The price reduction by private dealerships for the Vario 160 is likely a strategy to clear their inventory and avoid potential challenges once the model is officially distributed. Honda Vietnam has, on multiple occasions, launched new models at significantly lower prices than those offered by private importers.
