Chinese automaker Changan has recently confirmed that it will soon introduce a new pure electric vehicle with a battery-swapping feature.

The new electric vehicle from Changan will be sold under its sub-brand, Oshan.

While the company has not yet revealed the official name of this electric sedan, leaked images suggest the logo S20 or 520 placed on the right corner of the rear end.

The name S20 seems likely, given that this brand’s product line typically has names starting with letters like Z6, X7, or X70.

According to the announcement, the Oshan S20 has dimensions of 4,770 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,765 mm.

The front of the car impresses with a closed grille designed with a stylized, angular pattern. Below is an impressive front bumper and air intake with sharp cuts.

Powering the Oshan S20 is an electric motor that produces 141 horsepower. The motor is paired with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, enabling the car to reach a top speed of up to 135 km/h.

It is known that the S20’s battery is manufactured by the CATL and SAIC joint venture, which also supplies batteries for Nio’s electric vehicle line-up.

In November 2023, Changan and Nio signed an agreement to share battery-swapping infrastructure. This means that, upon launch, the battery-swapping models of Nio and Changan can utilize the same swapping station system.

Changan has not yet disclosed the price or detailed specifications of the vehicle. It is only known that the S20 will be assembled at Changan’s Chongqing plant in China.
