Tesla Unveils the Futuristic Cybercab: A Glimpse into the World of Autonomous Electric Robotaxis
Tesla has recently revealed the first official images of its upcoming model, the Cybercab, an all-electric, self-driving robotaxi. With a promised release date before 2027, Tesla aims to revolutionize the industry with a retail price expected to be under $30,000 (750 million VND).
The Cybercab’s design has drawn comparisons to the Volkswagen XL1, introduced back in 2013. Both vehicles boast a futuristic and streamlined design, optimizing aerodynamics. However, the XL1 takes it a step further with its expanded rear end and seamless rear wheel covers, creating a sleek and cohesive look.
The butterfly-style doors on both models enhance the overall aesthetic and provide easier access for passengers, a feature particularly useful for low-slung sports cars.
As a self-driving vehicle, the Cybercab forgoes the need for a rear window, a design choice also seen in the Volkswagen XL1, creating a seamless and modern exterior.
When it comes to the interior, both the Tesla Cybercab and the Volkswagen XL1 offer a 2-seat configuration. However, the Cybercab takes a unique approach by eliminating the steering wheel, brake and accelerator pedals, and even the air vents, based on the images released by Tesla. Instead, the cabin is equipped with an array of optical sensors and cameras, replacing the traditional rearview mirror, enabling a 360-degree view of the surroundings.
The Cybercab is designed with a dense network of external sensors, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of its environment. (Tuoitrethudo)
