Motorcyclists and drivers who commit the following offenses may have their driving licenses revoked by the traffic police for up to 2 years.

A driving license is a type of permit or certificate issued by a state agency or competent authority to an individual, authorizing them to operate, use, and participate in traffic with motor vehicles such as motorcycles, large-displacement motorbikes, cars, trucks, buses, etc.

Motorcyclists and drivers who commit the following violations shall have their driving licenses revoked for 22-24 months:

– Operating a vehicle on the road with a blood alcohol content or breath alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams/100 milliliters of blood or exceeding 0.4 milligrams/liter of breath.

– Refusing to comply with the request for alcohol testing by an official on duty.

– Operating a vehicle on the road while having drugs in the body.

– Refusing to comply with the request for drug testing by an official on duty.

In addition to having their driving licenses revoked, drivers who violate the above four offenses will be fined from 30 to 40 million VND. Motorcyclists who violate the four offenses will also be fined from 6 to 8 million VND.

During the period of license revocation, the revoked individual is not allowed to operate the type of vehicle specified in their revoked license. If they do so, they will be subject to further penalties for driving without a valid license.
