The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 receives significant technological upgrades and improved aerodynamics, delivering an enhanced driving experience for enthusiasts of sports cars.
Porsche has recently unveiled the 2025 911 GT3, commemorating 25 years since the launch of the iconic GT3 sports car. This model, with the internal code 992.2, is a mid-life update to the 2023 GT3, featuring a flat-six naturally aspirated engine that produces 502 horsepower at 9,000 rpm.
Despite the new 911 models adopting hybrid powertrains, Porsche has equipped the 911 GT3 with a pure internal combustion engine. This is a surprising decision, especially considering the increasingly stringent emissions standards. To address environmental concerns, the new engine is fitted with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters.
To enhance the excitement of the new emissions control devices, the engine also incorporates camshafts from the GT3 RS, along with new throttle bodies, a new oil cooler, and cylinder head modifications.
The Porsche 911 GT3 continues to offer the choice between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The manual option has been refined with shorter gear ratios, addressing a common complaint about Porsche’s manual transmissions having long gear ratios.
For the front suspension, the car adopts technologies derived from the GT3 RS. This system is designed to improve aerodynamics, enhance front downforce, and aid in brake cooling. The lower wishbone front link is also mounted lower, reducing dive under braking.
The design of the Porsche 911 GT3 has been refined to optimize aerodynamics. The headlights now feature wider aerodynamic intakes. Additionally, Porsche has fitted a new diffuser, engine cover, and air intakes. The tires on the 2025 model are designed to improve performance in wet conditions, and a track-focused tire option is also available.
The Weissach package, previously offered on Porsche RS models, is now available for the GT3. This upgrade includes a carbon fiber hood, roll bar, links, underbody panels, mirror caps, and magnesium wheels.
In addition to the standard model, Porsche also introduces the GT3 Touring variant. As is customary, this version forgoes some of the sporty elements for a more elegant appearance.
The GT3 Touring features the Leichtbau package, which includes a carbon fiber suspension, a carbon fiber roof that matches the body color, magnesium wheels, and a shorter shift lever from the 911 S/T.
Inside, the 911 GT3’s interior is similar to the 911 Carrera, but the GT3 retains a traditional starter switch instead of a push-button. The carbon fiber sports seats are foldable and offer an optional heating function. Notably, the GT3 Touring variant now offers rear seats for the first time.
According to Porsche, the new GT3 is the lightest in its class, weighing just 1.4 tons.
The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 starts at $224,495 USD, a significant increase from the 2023 model’s base price of $171,500 USD.
