Wuling Vietnam’s fanpage has recently posted a teaser image of a new product with the status “B… for Beauty”, translating to “B… stands for beauty”.
Based on the shared image, this appears to be the Wuling Bingo, which was rumored to be launched in Vietnam in 2024.
The car is expected to be introduced to Vietnamese customers in late October or early November.
Earlier, in June, the official website of TMT Motor had shared images of two Wuling Bingo cars within the premises of their factory in Van Lam, Hung Yen. At the same time, the company confirmed plans to distribute this model in Vietnam.
Wuling Bingo has overall dimensions of 3,950 x 1,705 x 1,580 mm (DxRxC) and a wheelbase of 2,560 mm. With these dimensions, the car is positioned in the A-segment, competing directly with VinFast VF 5 (3,965 x 1,720 x 1,580 mm).
The Wuling Bingo features a rounded design, seemingly borrowed from the Mini Cooper. It is equipped with 14-inch rims, much smaller than the 17-inch rims of the VinFast VF 5.
It is unclear what features the car will have when it arrives in Vietnam, but in the Chinese market, the Wuling Bingo offers a simple interior with a 7-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and a 10.25-inch central infotainment screen. It also includes power-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, push-button start, and electronic parking brake.
The safety features of this Chinese electric car are basic, including ABS/EBD brakes, electronic stability control, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and tire pressure monitoring.
Launched in Thailand in July, the Bingo is equipped with an electric motor offering two power options: 41 horsepower with 110 Nm of torque and 68 horsepower with 150 Nm of torque. With the LFP 17.3 kWh battery option, the car can travel up to 203 km on a single charge. The higher-end model is fitted with a 31.9 kWh battery, offering a range of 333 km per charge.
According to speculations, the Bingo will support fast charging, allowing a charge from 30% to 80% in about 35 minutes.
The pricing for the Bingo has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer. In some Southeast Asian markets, this model is priced between 540 and 580 million VND.
According to sales consultants, the Wuling Bingo in Vietnam is expected to be priced between 500 and 600 million VND.
In reality, Wuling does not yet have a charging station network in Vietnam, and the features are basic. Unless the pricing is competitive (its main competitor, the VF 5 Plus, is priced at only 460 million VND), this Chinese electric car will struggle to compete. Additionally, it will face competition from CUVs and hatchback A-segment cars such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Toyota Wigo.
