The Vietnamese automotive market has experienced a gloomy phase in the first eight months of 2024. However, entering the ninth month, the sales performance of car companies not only improved but also showed impressive growth.

According to VAMA, the total market sales for the period ending September 2024 increased by 7.5% compared to 2023. Passenger cars increased by 7.5%, commercial vehicles by 7.4%, and specialized vehicles by 5.6% over the previous year.

As of September 2024, sales of domestically assembled cars decreased by 7.5%, while imported cars increased by 28.5% compared to the same period last year.

Here are the top 10 best-selling car models in the first nine months of 2024:

**Mitsubishi Xpander: 12,956 units sold**

Mitsubishi Xpander maintained its position as the best-selling model in the first nine months of 2024, with sales of 12,956 units.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is available in the Vietnamese market in four variants: MT, AT, AT Premium, and Xpander Cross, with prices ranging from VND 560 million to VND 698 million.

**Ford Ranger: 11,766 units sold**

Closely following is the Ford Ranger, with sales of 11,766 units in the first nine months. The Ranger continues to dominate the pickup truck segment in Vietnam. Local assembly has ensured a stable supply of this popular model. It is also the only pickup truck to consistently rank among the top 10 best-selling cars every month.

Ford offers the Ranger in seven different variants, with prices ranging from VND 669 million to VND 1.299 billion.

**Mitsubishi Xforce: 9,963 units sold**

Despite being a new entrant to the Vietnamese market, launched in March 2024, the Mitsubishi Xforce has quickly gained traction, with sales of 9,963 units in the first nine months of 2024.

The Xforce is currently imported from Indonesia and is available in four variants: GLX, Exceed, Premium, and Ultimate, with prices ranging from VND 599 million to VND 705 million.

**Mazda CX-5: 9,240 units sold**

Ranking fourth in the top 10 best-selling cars in the past nine months is the Mazda CX-5, with sales of 9,240 units.

The Mazda CX-5 is locally assembled in Vietnam and is offered in three variants, with prices ranging from VND 749 million to VND 829 million.

**Toyota Vios: 8,812 units sold**

Toyota Vios recorded sales of 8,812 units in the first nine months of 2024, a 17.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, securing its position at number five on the list.

Toyota offers the Vios in three variants, with prices ranging from VND 458 million to VND 545 million.

**Hyundai Accent: 8,200 units sold**

Hyundai delivered a total of 8,200 Accent units to customers in the first nine months of 2024.

The Hyundai Accent is available in four variants, with prices ranging from VND 439 million to VND 569 million.

**Ford Everest: 7,153 units sold**

The Ford Everest maintained its position in the top 10 best-selling cars, ranking seventh in the first nine months of 2024, with sales of 7,153 units.

Everest is offered in six variants, with prices ranging from VND 1.099 billion to VND 1.545 billion.

**Toyota Yaris Cross: 6,898 units sold**

Toyota delivered a total of 6,898 Yaris Cross units in the first nine months of 2024, ranking eighth on the list.

The Toyota Yaris Cross was introduced in the Vietnamese market in September 2023. It belongs to the B-SUV segment and is imported from Indonesia, offering two variants with prices ranging from VND 650 million to VND 765 million.

**Honda City: 6,071 units sold**

Honda City made a comeback to the top-selling list, thanks to its record-breaking sales of 1,590 units in September. In the first nine months of 2024, Honda delivered a total of 6,071 City units.

The Honda City is available in three variants (G, L, and RS) with prices ranging from VND 559 million to VND 609 million.

**Toyota Veloz Cross: 5,218 units sold**

Toyota Veloz Cross recorded sales of 5,218 units in the first nine months of 2024.

The Toyota Veloz Cross is locally assembled in Vietnam and is offered in two variants, priced at VND 638 million and VND 660 million, respectively.
