The new Skoda Kodiaq retains the brand’s characteristic design language, with refined exterior details and upgraded features. Notably, the addition of the Sportline variant introduces a sportier aesthetic to the lineup.
Today, October 23, the Vietnam Auto & Moto Show 2024 (Vietnam Motor Show 2024) officially kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City. The event witnessed the participation of 19 automobile and motorcycle brands, along with over 50 labels showcasing components, custom shops, and auxiliary industries. Making its debut at the show, the Czech automotive brand Skoda unveiled the new generation of its CUV Kodiaq.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq marks the second generation of the model, first launched in October 2023. This CUV boasts dimensions of 4,758 x 1,864 x 1,657 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. Compared to its predecessor, it is 61 mm longer, 18 mm narrower, and 24 mm lower, while the wheelbase remains unchanged.
In terms of exterior design, the vehicle embodies the Modern Solid design language while retaining iconic Skoda elements such as the vertical slat grille and two-tier headlights.
Elements like the headlights/taillights, front/rear bumpers, and alloy wheels have been refined. The LED matrix headlights feature distinctive LED daytime running lights in the shape of the letter “T”. The taillights also sport a new design, accentuated by an LED strip spanning the width of the tailgate.
At VMS 2024, the Kodiaq 2025 was introduced in two variants. The Sportline version stands out with its dynamic blue exterior paint and 20-inch alloy wheels. The standard version is presented in a more subdued green hue and smaller wheels.
Stepping inside, the Kodiaq’s cabin showcases a modern and minimalist design. It features a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. The central control panel has been redesigned for a more streamlined appearance, and the gear selector has been relocated from the center console to behind the steering wheel.
The high-end variant boasts a 14-speaker Canton sound system, four USB-C ports, front seats with massage function, and upgraded interior materials.
Similar to the previous generation, the Skoda Kodiaq 2025 in Vietnam offers two engine options. The first is a 1.4L four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The second option is a more powerful 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 190 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Compared to the previous generation, this engine offers an additional 10 horsepower. It is coupled with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Skoda has not yet disclosed the pricing for the 2025 Kodiaq, but it is expected to remain competitive. Positioned in the CUV/SUV D-segment, the Skoda model will go up against rivals such as the Ford Everest, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Kia Sorento.
