On October 23, 2024, the Vietnam Auto & Motorcycle Show 2024 (Vietnam Motor Show 2024) officially kicked off at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), with the participation of 19 automotive brands and nearly 300 auxiliary industry booths.

On the first day, the exhibition welcomed thousands of visitors, especially the support of hundreds of press agencies and media outlets. The highlight of this year’s exhibition was the series of electric vehicles and green technology, affirming the commitment of the automotive and motorcycle industries towards a sustainable future.

The event was graced by Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai – Vice Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Nguyen Danh Huy – Deputy Minister of Transport; Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu – Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade; Mr. Le Van Duong – Head of Science, Technology and Environment Department, Ministry of Transport; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong – Vice Chairman of the Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Southern Representative; Mr. Luong Duc Toan – Representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Firdauz Othman – Consul General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nakano Keita – Chairman of Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA); Ms. Le Thanh Hai – Representative of Vietnam Automobile Importers Association (VIVA); Mr. Okutani Masahiro – Representative of Vietnam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (VAMM); Mr. Dao Cong Quyet – Head of VAMA Communications Subcommittee; along with representatives of brands and many other partners and guests. Notable activities on the first day included the Opening Ceremony and a special tour program for the press and VIP guests.

Vietnam Motor Show 2024 – A Turning Point for Vietnam’s Automotive and Motorcycle Industries in the Context of Global Sustainable Development

With the theme “Open Technology for a Green Future”, Vietnam Motor Show 2024 demonstrated the commitment of automotive brands in providing green and sustainable mobility solutions, emphasizing the importance of technology application for environmental protection.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nakano Keita, Chairman of Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), emphasized: “Vietnam Motor Show 2024 is not just a gathering of renowned automotive and motorcycle brands, but also a testament to the transformation of this industry in Vietnam. With a strong commitment to sustainable development, this year’s event focuses on green energy solutions, emission reduction, and leading safety technologies. We believe that with the support of the government and the efforts of enterprises, Vietnam will make significant strides in realizing the Net Zero target by 2050.”

Ms. Le Thanh Hai, Representative of Vietnam Automobile Importers Association (VIVA), also expressed optimism about the prospects of the imported car market in Vietnam: “The growth of the imported car market in Vietnam reflects a clear trend: consumers are seeking vehicles that ensure not only performance but also environmental friendliness. VIVA brings not only advanced products from the international market but also meets the increasingly high demands of consumers. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire outstanding models with state-of-the-art technology and choose the most suitable vehicle for themselves.”

Also at the opening ceremony, Mr. Okutani Masahiro, Representative of Vietnam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (VAMM), shared the role of motorcycle brands at this year’s exhibition: “Vietnam’s motorcycle industry is facing a major transition as consumers increasingly embrace the green and energy-saving trend. Vietnam Motor Show 2024 is an opportunity for VAMM to introduce electric motorcycle technologies and advanced product lines, contributing to the development of a sustainable transportation system that meets modern demands while protecting the environment.”

More Than 200 Automotive and Motorcycle Models on Display for Public Viewing

Vietnam Motor Show 2024 witnessed the launch of new car models, especially those making their first appearance in the Vietnamese market, such as: MPV All-New M6 Pro by GAC Motor Vietnam with two versions, 1.5 Turbo GS and 1.5 Turbo GL, offering both convenience and fashion, along with a series of advanced safety features; MG G50, D90, and IM LS7 – Intelligent MG – 3 new models from MG with modern design and powerful performance; Crosstrek All-New – Subaru’s renowned SUV with a youthful and trendy look; NEW ISUZU D-MAX 2024 pickup truck by ISUZU with a new version featuring a powerful and majestic design, flexible performance on rugged terrains, and impressive fuel efficiency; BYD’s duo of newly launched products in Vietnam, BYD M6 – a family MPV with spacious interior, ideal for daily commuting, and BYD HAN – a model featuring aerodynamic design and advanced electric technology.

Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam showcased its flagship models, including Xpander, Xforce, and the all-new Triton, along with the 30th-anniversary special edition of Xpander, Xforce, and Attrage; Skoda Superb L&K, the most luxurious and high-end version of the Skoda brand; GAZ presented the new generation of the New NEXT (NN) line with high-performance vehicles, equipped with modern Euro-5 standard diesel engines, meeting the requirements of sustainable development.

Especially, breakthrough green vehicles with the most advanced technologies were also introduced to consumers: IM LS7 – Intelligent MG, a large smart pure electric MPV from MG with a four-wheel drive system, capable of accelerating from 0-100km/s in just 4.5 seconds under ideal conditions; Honda presented the Civic e:HEV RS sports sedan with a hybrid engine that delivers both power and environmental friendliness; two new reliable electric motorcycle models, ICON e: and CUV e:; Skoda introduced high-end versions of Octavia vRS, Enyaq Coupe vRS, Superb L&K, and the new-generation Kodiaq – which will be launched in the near future, along with Kushaq – the first Skoda model to be assembled in Vietnam; Renegade® Cruiser and Scrambler – iconic models of the Cruiser and Scrambler lines from UM® Motorcycles; Toyota Vietnam with the pure electric concept car FT-3e and the Hybrid product line – notably the all-new 2024 Toyota Camry; XL7 Hybrid – Suzuki’s “green” highlight in their product chain in Vietnam.

The exhibition also featured prominent motorcycle and large-displacement models from brands such as: CVO Road Glide ST – the most powerful commercial touring motorcycle from Harley-Davidson; the famous Bonneville models by Triumph Motorcycles, 2025 version, with unique and eye-catching color schemes; KTM 890 ADVENTURE R: The new generation off-road warrior from KTM, one of the top choices in the under-1000cc Adventure segment; Norden 901 – A durable Swedish-made adventure touring machine, considered one of the best in the Vietnamese market by Husqvarna Motorcycles; Yamaha introduced the EV Concept duo, MOTOROiD2 and ELOVE. MOTOROiD2 features a minimalist structure, integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) for self-balancing, owner recognition, and interaction; SYM Vietnam presented the Priti 125 scooter, promising to captivate young female customers.

Superior Scale with Numerous Exciting Experiential Activities

Vietnam Motor Show 2024 boasts a large scale and total area, with a display area of nearly 25,000m2. Notably, this exhibition promoted unique performances and experiential activities such as feature demonstrations, performances, test drives, and technology experiences offered by brands like: MG TEST-DRIVE – An experience of MG’s commercial models; Subaru’s unique off-road test drive and experience of its latest models and core technologies; Along with enjoying the performances, visitors could also interact with the AR Filter technology and capture memorable moments with the Bullet Time feature in a 360-degree frame.

Additionally, a seminar on “Reducing Emissions from Transport Vehicles and Green Energy Transition for Environmental Protection” was held on October 24, 2024, from 9:00 to 12:00, in the Sunflower 2 room on the 3rd floor of SECC. The seminar featured the participation of leading speakers and experts in the field, discussing two main issues: “Green, Clean, and Environmentally Friendly Energy Vehicles” and “Proper Use of Euro 5 Fuel”. These discussions emphasized green energy solutions, contributing to global efforts in environmental protection and climate change response.

Throughout the 5-day duration of Vietnam Motor Show 2024, automotive brands organized special performances, introduced new models and advanced technologies at various time slots. Visitors could purchase tickets directly at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) or through the official website.

Vietnam Motor Show 2024 was organized in collaboration with the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), Vietnam Automobile Importers Association (VIVA), and Vietnam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (VAMM).
