The power source for Honda’s new electric scooter is an in-wheel motor integrated into the rear wheel, with a maximum output of 1.5 kW and a peak torque of 85 Nm, contributing to the vehicle’s sleek design. The lithium-ion 30.6 Ah battery is placed under the floorboard, while the PCU energy controller is located beneath the storage compartment.
Honda ICON e: users can remove the battery for charging.
When fully charged, the battery allows the Honda ICON e: to travel up to 50 km at a maximum speed of 49 km/h. Notably, users can either charge the battery directly on the scooter or remove it for charging. The battery casing is made of lightweight yet sturdy aluminum alloy and is water-resistant. The top of the battery features a rubber handle for easy grip and indicator lights to monitor the charging status. Charging the battery from 0% to 100% takes 7 hours and 20 minutes, while charging from 25% to 75% takes 3.5 hours. Honda assures that the scooter’s charger is designed with safety in mind, so users can charge it overnight without worry.
The Honda ICON e:’s handlebar is equipped with a sensor that detects the rider’s throttle input. Riders can choose between two riding modes: Standard and ECO. The ECO mode is designed for a gentler riding experience, making it ideal for beginners. It also helps conserve battery power, increasing the travel range by approximately 15% compared to the Standard mode.
In Vietnam, the Honda ICON e: is available in three versions: Sports, Special, and Premium. The Sports version offers two color options: gray and green. The Special version features a matte silver color, while the Premium version comes in three color choices: black-gray, red-gray, and white-gray.
