The Vietnam Auto & Motorcycle Show 2024 (Vietnam Motor Show 2024) witnessed a stunning display by BYD from October 23 to 27, 2024. The Chinese automaker initially planned to skip VMS 2024, but their impressive lineup proved to be a highlight of the event.
BYD’s debut at the Vietnam Motor Show featured the M6, a spacious MPV ideal for daily commutes, and the HAN, a vehicle that stands out for its aerodynamic design and advanced electric technology.
The showcase also included the Dolphin, Atto3, Seal, and the special appearances of the Denza D9 MPV and the Yangwang U8, marking their first appearance in Vietnam.
The BYD Yangwang U8 boasts impressive features, such as 360-degree rotation and crab-like sideways movement, as demonstrated at VMS 2024. Additionally, it can automatically activate an emergency floating mode, ensuring the safety of occupants and preventing water from entering the cabin and engine, causing damage.
This floating technology is designed to provide maximum passive safety in emergency situations by activating the vehicle’s floating capability, similar to airbags, during heavy rain and flooding.
The emergency floating capability of the Yangwang U8 can be activated by the driver through the central control screen. The vehicle then utilizes various sensors to monitor water depth, body posture, wheel slip, and other parameters. If the conditions for floating are met, the vehicle will automatically activate the emergency floating mode, allowing it to move forward and turn around while floating.
Upon activating the emergency floating mode, the vehicle’s engine will shut down, the suspension will be raised to its highest level, the windows will automatically roll up, the air vents will close, and the adaptive cooling fans will turn on, among other measures, to ensure better sealing and waterproofing.
