“V-Green and Saigon Co.op Join Forces to Bring Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to Vietnam”
October 25, 2024 – V-GREEN, a leading developer of electric vehicle charging stations, and Saigon Co.op, a prominent retail company, have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the installation of EV charging stations at Saigon Co.op’s locations nationwide.
As per the agreement, V-GREEN will initially install 100 charging points for electric cars and motorcycles at Saigon Co.op’s facilities that meet the required infrastructure standards across Vietnam. In subsequent phases, the two companies will jointly explore expansion opportunities at new suitable locations.
With a vast network of 133 Co.opmart supermarkets, Co.opXtra hypermarkets, 800 Co.op Food grocery stores, along with Co.op Smile convenience stores, 24-hour Cheers stores, Sense Market modern markets, and large mixed-use complexes and shopping centers nationwide, Saigon Co.op serves a large number of customers daily and boasts a diverse infrastructure system in terms of scale and area. Depending on the location, V-GREEN will install electric car and motorcycle charging stations to cater to the diverse needs of Saigon Co.op’s customers.
This collaboration not only enhances convenience for customers by optimizing their vehicle charging time while shopping but also accelerates the deployment of charging stations in densely populated areas. This partnership sets a precedent for promoting green transition and sustainable mobility in Vietnam.
