The Yamaha WR155R is now available at select private retailers, with a price range of 82-83 million VND.

According to information from the Vietnam Registry, Yamaha Vietnam has just registered the fuel consumption rate of the WR155R – a 150 cc dirt bike model. Unlike copyright registration, registering fuel consumption indicates that the bike will soon be introduced to consumers.

The published information reveals that the WR155R is an imported bike with a fuel consumption rate of 2.33 liters per 100 kilometers. Technical specifications indicate that it is equipped with a 155.1 cc engine, producing 16.7 horsepower at 10,000 rpm. The bike features a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. The maximum speed is 109 km/h.

While the Yamaha WR155R is not entirely new to the Vietnamese market, having been spotted at various import stores, it is now officially registered. The price of the WR155R at these stores varies from 82 to 83 million VND, depending on the color variant.

Registration details of the Yamaha WR155R at the Vietnam Registry.

The small dirt bike segment in the domestic market doesn’t offer many options, and all of them are privately imported. Yamaha’s introduction of the official WR155R can be seen as a strategic move by the Japanese brand to be the “first-mover” in this space.

In addition to the WR155R, Yamaha Vietnam has also registered the fuel consumption rates of two other models: the XS155R and Tracer 9 GT. The Vietnamese two-wheeler market is expected to offer a wider range of choices for customers in 2023, spanning from small-displacement bikes to large-capacity motorcycles.
