After a one-year hiatus, the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024 is back, and while it may lack the presence of luxury car brands, it certainly doesn’t lack excitement. Among the mainstream brands present at the event, Honda’s exhibition area stood out as the most prominent, occupying an impressive space at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Honda Vietnam’s exhibition space showcased the theme “Gear up for Green, Accelerating Towards a Green Future.”
Honda Showcases an Impressive Lineup at VMS 2024
Unlike previous years, Honda Vietnam brought its full range of products to VMS 2024, including motorcycles, large-displacement bikes, and automobiles, offering visitors a comprehensive overview of their diverse mobility solutions.
With a total exhibition area of 1,500 square meters, the Japanese automaker skillfully designed different zones to showcase their products, catering to a diverse range of customers. The automotive zone took center stage at the exhibition, emphasizing the message “Gear up for Green,” and it was here that Honda showcased its main attractions and introduced new products to visitors.
On display were models currently on sale, including the Civic Type R, City, HR-V, BR-V, and CR-V. The CR-V was presented in both pure gasoline and hybrid versions. Taking center stage was the unveiling of the Honda Civic e:HEV RS, the company’s next hybrid model, embodying the message of transition and a green future through environmentally friendly products.
The high-performance Honda Civic Type R, available for order in Vietnam, was positioned on the outer side of the exhibition area.
The Honda CR-V e:HEV is one of the best-selling hybrid models in the Vietnamese market.
Moving past the automotive zone, visitors to the Honda Vietnam exhibition at VMS 2024 entered a space dedicated to high-performance large-displacement bikes, ranging from mid-range to premium models. Here, visitors could explore the adventure-oriented NX500 and the recently launched CB650R and CBR650R models, equipped with E-Clutch technology.
Honda’s E-Clutch technology is the world’s first fully automatic clutch system for motorcycles, eliminating the need for a clutch lever when shifting gears. It allows riders to shift smoothly using only the shift pedal, a practical feature in Vietnam’s congested traffic conditions.

Moving on to the zone dedicated to common motorcycles, visitors could see familiar models like the Vario, Air Blade, Vision, and Winner displayed in a youthful and vibrant space, targeting Gen Z customers.
The Honda Vario 125, with its youthful and dynamic styling, appeals to the energetic lifestyle of the younger generation.
This zone also attracted a large number of visitors to the VMS 2024 exhibition.
Right next to it was an area showcasing the racing team’s vehicles.
Lastly, there was a zone dedicated to retro-style motorcycles, featuring the CB350 H’ness model. This motorcycle currently has the most accessible price point among Honda Vietnam’s offerings and has maintained relatively stable sales since its launch nearly a year ago.
In addition to the exhibition, visitors to the Honda Vietnam booth at VMS 2024 could sign up for test rides on common and large-displacement motorcycles.
A Range of New Products for a Greener Future
During the exhibition, Honda Vietnam introduced four new products simultaneously. The highlight was the new Civic e:HEV RS, powered by a 2.0L gasoline engine combined with two electric motors, delivering an impressive 200 horsepower.
This is a significant figure in the C-segment sedan class, and it also offers excellent fuel efficiency. According to the Japanese automaker, this model consumes only 4.56 liters per 100km on a combined cycle. Additionally, all versions now come with eight sensors at the front and rear, and the Honda Sensing safety technology package is standard.
The 2024 Honda Civic is a mid-life facelift model imported from Thailand.
Next, Honda introduced its first electric motorcycles to the Vietnamese market: the CUV e: and ICON e:. The Honda ICON e: targets students with an expected price of under VND 30 million (excluding battery). The battery will be available for rent without a mileage limit at a reasonable cost.
Despite its affordable price, the Honda ICON e: boasts modern features such as LED headlights, CBS brakes, a USB-A phone charging port, and a digital LCD instrument cluster. Meanwhile, the CUV e: will be a more premium offering with smart key technology and a 7-inch TFT display that connects to your phone.
Honda’s two new electric motorcycle models attracted a lot of attention from visitors to the exhibition.
Unlike the ICON e:, the Honda CUV e: will not be sold but will be available for rent in 2025, despite its more advanced features. The CUV e:’s battery can be easily removed and swapped at the company’s electric vehicle stores, providing a convenient and cost-effective mobility solution.
Many visitors showed interest in Honda’s green transportation options.
In the initial phase, Honda Vietnam has selected 76 top dealers from its network in seven provinces and cities to become authorized dealers for electric vehicles, offering clear brand identification, modern facilities, and experienced staff.
Notably, these dealers commit to buying back used vehicles at attractive prices within three years of customer use if certain criteria regarding maintenance, appearance, and operation are met.
Finally, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP remains the flagship model in the company’s large-displacement lineup. The 2024 version features an upgraded engine and the application of electronic throttle control. It is also the first motorcycle in the world to use the third-generation Öhlins Smart Electronic Control suspension system.
In addition to upgraded equipment, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP also features design changes that improve aerodynamics.
Mr. Le Ngoc Binh, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, shared his thoughts on the exhibition: “I go to VMS every year it’s held, but I have to admit that Honda’s scale this year is impressive. Their product range impressed me, especially the new models. The Civic is, of course, impressive, and I’m excited to test drive the hybrid version. As for the two new electric motorcycle models, they are fantastic. Honda’s electric motorcycles sold in the market before were all imported from China and expensive. Now we have affordable official models.”
