At the Skoda booth at the Vietnam Motor Show 2024, visitors were treated to a total of 7 models, making it one of the brands with the most new launches at the event. And taking center stage was the all-new Kodiaq.
Exterior Design
First introduced to the international market in 2023, the new Skoda Kodiaq sports an even more attractive exterior design and richer amenities. The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq boasts dimensions of 4,758 x 1,864 x 1,657 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. Compared to its predecessor, it is 61 mm longer, 18 mm narrower, and 24 mm lower, while the wheelbase remains unchanged.
Previously assembled Skoda Kodiaq
In terms of exterior design, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq has evolved rather than undergone a complete overhaul. The SUV adopts the Modern Solid design language and retains some characteristic features of the Skoda brand, such as the grille with vertical slats and the two-tier front light clusters.
Additionally, it features new exterior elements like headlights, taillights, front and rear bumpers, and alloy wheels. The headlights are full-LED matrix units with 36 modules, integrating sleek daytime running lights that double as turn signals.
Meanwhile, the taillights are designed in the shape of the letter “C,” wrapping around the rear corners and connected by a strip of lights stretching across the tailgate.
The alloy wheel design varies depending on the trim level. The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline, a high-end variant spotted before the VMS 2024, features 20-inch wheels with aerodynamic styling reminiscent of electric vehicles.
Interior
The interior of the mid-size SUV, the all-new Skoda Kodiaq, boasts a minimalist and modern design.
Upon entering the vehicle, one is greeted by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a new 12.9-inch central touchscreen, and a convenient head-up display from this Czech Republic-made SUV.
Despite having a larger infotainment screen, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq still retains practical physical buttons.
Another change in the new Skoda Kodiaq is the placement of the gear selector behind the steering wheel, similar to its rival, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe. As a result, the central console has more space for a more spacious storage compartment.
Moreover, the 2025 Skodiaq offers a new storage area for rear passengers, a cooled compartment for wireless phone charging, a flexible cargo area, and a driver’s side door with an umbrella compartment, reminiscent of the luxurious Rolls-Royce.
The vehicle offers a generous 340 liters of cargo space, expandable to 845 liters by folding down the rear seats.
Powertrain
The newly launched Skoda Kodiaq in Vietnam retains the two petrol engine options from its predecessor. The first is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The second is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 190 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Compared to the previous version, this engine delivers an additional 10 horsepower. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
