Hyundai recently introduced a limited-edition Kona Electric, the Mauna Loa, with an extremely limited quantity.
The Hyundai Kona EV Mauna Loa takes its name from Mauna Loa, the world’s largest active volcano in Hawaii, symbolizing power and endurance. It’s designed to evoke a sense of strength and adventure, featuring unique equipment.
The Kona Mauna Loa sports an exterior paint job in Mirage Green, complemented by black “Wild & Tough” front and side bumpers and mudguards for a bolder, tougher look.
Additionally, this off-road variant boasts black alloy wheels and Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires, enhancing road grip and ensuring maximum safety during adventurous journeys.
Emphasizing its off-road capabilities, all four wheels are equipped with rugged mudguards, a roof rack, and stylish black accents on the glass.
Inside, the Hyundai Kona EV Mauna Loa maintains the standard Kona EV’s layout but introduces a dominant green color scheme. It also includes additional features such as new rubber floor and cargo mats, outdoor accessories like folding chairs, a storage bag installed on the back of the front seats, and two plastic containers of different sizes.
Despite significant design enhancements, the Hyundai Kona retains the same powertrain as the standard Kona Electric.
It’s powered by an electric motor generating a maximum output of approximately 204 horsepower, coupled with a 64.8 kWh battery pack, offering a range of around 410 kilometers.
Hyundai is producing only 30 units of the Kona Mauna Loa, exclusively for the Japanese market. Priced at 4.95 million yen (approximately 824.36 million VND), it’s about 2,800 USD (71.02 million VND) more expensive than the pure electric Kona Voyage.
