For November 2024, domestically produced and assembled cars continue to enjoy a 50% registration fee discount as per the government’s policy. As a result, car importers are also offering registration fee support to compete with domestic rivals. The Honda HR-V and BR-V are a classic example of this strategy.

Specifically, in this November 2024, Honda will launch a promotional program offering a 50% discount on registration fees for the imported BR-V and HR-V duo. In addition, Honda is offering a one-year free hull insurance for the BR-V.

Official promotion program for Honda HR-V and BR-V in November 2024.

Currently, the Honda HR-V has 3 versions and is priced from 699 to 871 million VND. Thus, the registration fee incentive for this B-size SUV ranges from 35 to 43 million VND, depending on the version.

Meanwhile, the Honda BR-V has 2 versions priced from 661 to 705 million VND. The registration fee incentive for this small MPV helps customers save 33 million VND for the G version and 35 million VND for the L version.

Thus, the Honda HR-V and BR-V have the same incentive program as in October 2024. This program will be applied to customers who sign a car purchase contract and complete the 100% payment procedure from November 7 to November 30, 2024. In addition, the incentives for these two models are applied according to the 10% registration fee rate.

Thanks to the incentive program and the improvement of the entire car market, both the Honda BR-V and HR-V saw growth in sales in September 2024. The Honda BR-V sold 372 units, up 78.8%. The corresponding number for the Honda HR-V was 695 units, up 226.2%. Although sales improved, both models ranked relatively low in their segments.

Compared to its rivals, both Honda models do not have a price advantage. In addition, since they are imported, the two models have an unstable supply compared to domestically assembled competitors, which affects sales to some extent.

On the upside, both the Honda BR-V and HR-V have advantages such as a strong brand, attractive design, and standard Honda Sensing active safety package across all versions. The driving experience of these two models is also rated higher than many competitors in the same segment.

The Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 119 horsepower and a peak torque of 145 Nm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

Meanwhile, the Honda HR-V offers two gasoline engine options. The standard version is equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that delivers 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the other two versions feature a 1.5L turbocharged engine that generates 174 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.
