A string of premium vehicle license plates in Ha Tinh province, which were previously auctioned off for hundreds of millions to billions of VND, have been abandoned by the winning bidders.
Recently, Vietnam’s Partnership Auction Company disclosed a list of vehicle license plates slated for auction in the upcoming period.
Notably, the list included numerous attractive license plates from Ha Tinh province, which had previously been auctioned for hundreds of millions to billions of VND, but the winning bidders ultimately forfeited their deposits.
Of particular note is the license plate with the number “38A-666.66,” a quintuple 6, which fetched a winning bid of 10.78 billion VND during the auction held on August 15, 2024.
Additionally, other attractive license plates from Ha Tinh that were also abandoned by the winning bidders include: the plate “38A-666.68,” auctioned for over 1.4 billion VND on August 15, 2024; “38C-222.22,” auctioned for 580 million VND on April 17, 2024; “38A-588.88,” auctioned for 810 million VND on August 8, 2024; “38A-599.99,” auctioned for 765 million VND on April 8, 2024; and “38A-577.77,” auctioned for 725 million VND on December 28, 2023…
As per current regulations, interested participants must complete the auction registration process at least three days prior to the auction date, as well as submit a dossier fee (100,000 VND per license plate) and a deposit (40 million VND/license plate).
Within 15 days from the announcement of auction results, the winning bidder must pay the full auction price (excluding registration fees and license plate fees for automobiles).
For license plates that were successfully auctioned off but where the winning bidder failed to confirm the auction minutes or pay the amount (forfeiting their deposit) by the deadline, the license plates will be put up for auction again.
It is important to note that the winning bidder of a premium license plate auction will not be refunded the 40 million VND deposit.
