Ford’s CEO has recently revealed that the upcoming electric Ford Ranger EV pickup will be a game-changer.
As per the plan, the Ford Ranger EV will go into production in 2027. It will be developed on an entirely new platform dedicated to electric vehicles while remaining cost-competitive.
Ford hasn’t disclosed much information about this new model, but they assured that the Ranger EV would meet the needs of customers seeking more value for their money, including extended range, enhanced utilities, and versatility.
Notably, Ford’s CEO emphasized that the Ranger EV would have a cost structure comparable to any Chinese automaker setting up a factory in Mexico in the future. This indicates that the vehicle will be both affordable and profitable.
Jim Farley, Ford’s CEO, expects around 150 new electric vehicle models to be introduced in the North American market by the end of 2026.
This intense competition is prompting automakers to adjust vehicle prices and production costs to optimize profits.
