Honda Vietnam has recently filed for industrial design rights for a new scooter model.
Based on the filed images, this new model resembles the Honda BeAT available in the Indonesian market.
While it has never been officially distributed in Vietnam, private importers have brought in this model and advertised it for 24-25 million VND, depending on the decal.
In Indonesia, the Honda BeAT is offered in four variants: CBS, Deluxe, Street, and Deluxe Smartkey, with prices ranging from 18.43 to 19.83 million Rp (approximately 29-31.5 million VND).
The BeAT features the eSAF frame structure and has dimensions of 1,876 x 669 x 1,080 mm (length x width x height).
The Honda BeAT sports a sleek and robust design, packed with convenient features such as a smart key, anti-theft alarm system, a small LCD screen beside the traditional analog meter, a USB charging port, and a hook under the handlebar for added functionality.
It rides on 12-inch wheels and is equipped with an idle stop/start system (ISS), an ACG starter, and a combined braking system (CBS), although it lacks ABS.
Powering the Indonesian Honda BeAT is an eSP 110cc gasoline engine with PGM-FI fuel injection, delivering 8.9 horsepower and a maximum torque of 9.2 Nm.
While Honda Vietnam has not disclosed details about this new model, the filing for industrial design rights indicates that its official launch in Vietnam may be just around the corner.
