The Vietnam Motor Show 2024 (VMS 2024) concluded successfully after a 5-day run from October 23 to 27, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

After a one-year hiatus, VMS 2024 returned with a refreshing lineup of new and prominent vehicle models, attracting an impressive number of visitors totaling nearly 240,000. This edition also witnessed the largest gathering of electric and hybrid vehicles ever seen at the show.

The success of the Vietnam Motor Show 2024 once again solidified the standing of the three associations: the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), the Vietnam Automobile Importers’ Association (VIVA), and the Vietnam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (VAMM) in leading and developing the automotive and motorcycle industries in Vietnam.

With a record number of brands and visitors, the Vietnam Motor Show 2024 demonstrated the sustainable development and significant influence of the associations in this field.

Vietnam Motor Show 2024 – The Leading Event for Vietnam’s Automotive and Motorcycle Industries

Over the course of five exciting days filled with engaging events, the Vietnam Motor Show 2024 cemented its position as the largest event in Vietnam’s automotive and motorcycle industries. With the participation of 19 renowned automotive and motorcycle brands in the market, including GAC, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, MG, BYD, Honda, GAZ, Honda Motor, SYM, Yamaha Motor, UM Motocycles, Harley-Davidson, Triumph Motorcycles, KTM, and Husqvarna Motorcycles, along with newcomers like Cleveland, Ilux Mobihome, Nuen Motor, and Wendison, and nearly 300 auxiliary booths, VMS 2024 became a popular destination, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each day.

With the theme “Technology Opens the Future Green,” VMS 2024 presented a vibrant picture of the green and sustainable trends in the industry, featuring the latest electric and hybrid vehicles from brands such as Toyota, Honda, BYD, Skoda, Subaru, MG, and Yamaha…

This was the first time that electric vehicles like the Toyota FT-3e Concept, MG Cyberster, IM LS7, and Skoda Enyaq were introduced to Vietnamese consumers. BYD, a Chinese automaker, brought the most extensive range of green vehicles to VMS 2024. In addition to the five electric vehicles previously launched, including the Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin, Han, and M6, the company also introduced two extended-range electric vehicles, the Denza D9 and YangWang U8, to the Vietnamese market.

Meanwhile, the hybrid segment was dominated by Japanese automakers. Honda and Toyota jointly launched two hybrid sedans, the Civic e:HEV and Camry HEV, alongside a strong lineup of hybrids such as the CR-V e:HEV, Yaris Cross, and Corolla Cross. Subaru and Suzuki joined the fray with their own hybrid offerings, the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid and XL7 Hybrid. In the two-wheeler segment, Honda and Yamaha showcased impressive electric motorcycle concepts like the ICON e:, CUV e:, MOTOROiD2, and ELOVE.

These prominent vehicles not only reflected the global trend towards electric vehicle technology but also demonstrated the commitment of these brands to meeting the demand for environmentally friendly transportation, working towards the Net Zero goal by 2050. The event also provided visitors with the opportunity to directly admire and experience almost the entire range of products from the industry, including information on features, equipment, pricing, and more, enabling them to make informed purchasing decisions.

In addition to new products, VMS 2024 also offered a variety of engaging and creative experiences. Visitors had the chance to participate in test-drive programs, interact with AR filters, and experience the Bullet Time effect, allowing them to capture special moments. This was the first time the Bullet Time effect was used at VMS, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

The seminar on “Reducing Emissions from Transport and Green Energy Transition for Environmental Protection” was also a meaningful highlight of this year’s exhibition. The event brought together leading experts to discuss the role of technology and green energy in the sustainable future of transportation.

Notably, VMS 2024 welcomed high-ranking officials from the government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and international organizations. This demonstrated the government’s commitment to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s automotive and motorcycle industries, in line with the global trend towards green and energy-efficient solutions.

The achievements and milestones reached by the Vietnam Motor Show 2024 during the event opened up new prospects, contributing to the promotion of sustainability in Vietnam. With its impressive scale, unique experiences, and advanced technology solutions, the exhibition left a strong impression and reaffirmed its leading position in Vietnam’s automotive and motorcycle industries.

Affirming the Strategic Role of VAMA, VIVA, and VAMM

The Vietnam Motor Show 2024 was not only the largest commercial event for the automotive and motorcycle industries in Vietnam but also a testament to the extensive cooperation and strategic role of the three leading organizations: the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), the Vietnam Automobile Importers’ Association (VIVA), and the Vietnam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (VAMM)

At the Vietnam Motor Show 2024, VAMA, VIVA, and VAMM demonstrated their joint efforts towards green energy solutions, emission reduction, and the development of electric vehicles. They also affirmed their important role in leading the market, meeting new consumption trends, and promoting sustainability.

“Today, consumers are increasingly concerned about advanced technology, safety features, and driving experiences, while the government is actively working towards the Net Zero goal by 2050,” said Mr. Nakano Keita, Chairman of VAMA, at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Motor Show 2024. In addition, VAMA representatives pledged to continuously promote the development of technology and provide solutions to reduce CO2 emissions.

At the Vietnam Motor Show 2024, VIVA presented Vietnamese customers with a range of imported vehicles, from luxury cars to sports cars. Ms. Le Thanh Hai, representing the Vietnam Automobile Importers’ Association (VIVA), affirmed that VIVA not only brings leading international products to the market but also meets the diverse needs of domestic consumers through prominent models equipped with cutting-edge technology. These vehicles also encourage sustainable consumption trends and lay the foundation for a greener future for the Vietnamese automotive industry.

Motorcycles are a means of transportation that is deeply ingrained in the lives of Vietnamese people. Understanding this, VAMM, representing motorcycle manufacturers in Vietnam, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting environmentally friendly two-wheelers at VMS 2024. “We have always accompanied the government in providing diverse solutions to realize the national goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, while ensuring the sustainable development of society as a whole,” said Mr. Okutani Masahiro, Chairman of VAMM. With the presence of the most extensive range of motorcycle brands ever at the show, visitors were treated to a panoramic view of the industry in Vietnam, showcasing a diverse range of styles from compact city bikes to powerful large-displacement models.

Through the Vietnam Motor Show 2024, VAMA, VIVA, and VAMM demonstrated their roles and visions in driving policies and standards in the automotive and motorcycle industries, improving product quality, and ensuring the safety of Vietnamese consumers. With the presence of many green vehicles and activities promoting electric vehicles at the Vietnam Motor Show 2024, the associations of VAMA, VIVA, and VAMM also created an important premise for promoting policies that support environmentally friendly vehicles, working towards the Net Zero goal by 2050.
