Vinfast and FGF Collaborate to Offer Vietnamese Customers a Golden Opportunity to Trade in Their Gas Cars for Electric Ones

Gas Car Owners Get “Double Discounts”

“Trade-In and Upgrade” is a special program recently announced by VinFast and its partner FGF, offering attractive incentives to captivate customers.

FGF will support customers in selling their old gas cars (owned for a minimum of 3 months) of all brands with quick procedures and fair market prices, enabling them to upgrade to VinFast’s electric vehicle models VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 with special discounts.

For old gas cars that are not VinFast models, the support amounts to VND 15-25 million (for battery leasing) and VND 40-80 million (for car purchase with battery). A special offer for owners of VinFast Fadil, Lux A2.0, Lux SA2.0, and President includes discounts of VND 30-50 million (for battery leasing) and VND 70-120 million (for car purchase with battery). This can be seen as VinFast’s way of showing gratitude to its customers who supported the brand before its transition to pure electric vehicle manufacturing.

The new policy has created a buzz on many automotive forums, especially among VinFast car owners, due to VinFast’s bold move. Mr. The Trung, a member of the Northern Lux A2.0 owners’ forum, calculated that with the new incentive program, owners like himself would receive “double discounts.” For example, when trading in his old car for the VF 7, he would receive a VND 30 million discount if he leases the battery and VND 80 million if he purchases the car with the battery.

Additionally, he is still eligible for VinFast’s current promotions, valid until the end of November 2024, including a 6% discount on the vehicle’s value, a VND 30 million Vinmec voucher, VND 10 million in VinClub credit, and various benefits like free charging and parking… VinFast also offers him the option to convert all these promotions into cash, totaling VND 146-172 million depending on the version.

Therefore, including the discount from the “Trade-In and Upgrade” program, the current price Mr. Trung has to pay for the VF 7 starts from only VND 673 million (for the 7S version with battery leasing). “A car with a C-segment price but offering better features than B-segment gas cars in the market is something few people would expect. This is a golden opportunity for gas car owners during the year-end season,” said Mr. Trung.

Similarly, when upgrading to the VF 8, VinFast gas car owners will receive a maximum discount of VND 120 million (with battery). Combined with the current promotions worth up to VND 267 million in gifts from VinFast, VF 8 owners will receive a total of VND 387 million in discounts. Meanwhile, for the VF 9, the total discounts for gas car owners can go up to nearly VND 553 million.

“Buying a car and getting gifts worth over half a billion Vietnamese dong is an incredible deal. Only VinFast can offer such attractive policies. I bought a VinFast gas car in its early days, and the company has surprised me with gifts several times. I never expected to receive such a significant additional discount after a few years,” said Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ba, owner of a machinery manufacturing company in Ho Chi Minh City.

A Hassle-Free Transition to Electric Vehicles

The “Trade-In and Upgrade” program by VinFast has also surprised many customers who own gas cars of other brands, as they, too, are eligible for gifts worth up to VND 80 million.

This has motivated many car owners to plan to upgrade to electric vehicles soon. For example, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loc from Hung Yen, after learning about the new program, decided to sell his family’s old Hyundai to “upgrade” to the VF 8, a model he has long admired. “The current price of the VF 8 is already very attractive, and the additional discount makes it even more appealing. So, I didn’t hesitate anymore,” said Mr. Loc happily.

Besides the competitive pricing, Mr. Loc also chose the “Trade-In and Upgrade” program because FGF handles the sale of his old car in the most convenient way. Instead of having to advertise, find buyers, and go through time-consuming and energy-draining negotiations, Mr. Loc can sell his car directly to FGF, flexibly at any location and time, with streamlined procedures.

“Selling to an external garage can be risky, so I was hesitant to sell my car. Now, with the option to sell to reputable units like FGF, I feel much more secure,” said the customer.

Many other customers shared similar sentiments, expressing their intention to take advantage of this opportunity to upgrade to electric vehicles early and enjoy these hard-to-come-by benefits.

According to some VinFast dealerships, they received numerous inquiries on the very first day the “Trade-In and Upgrade” program was announced. Some customers even expressed their eagerness to be among the first to have their old cars appraised and get their new electric vehicles before the year’s end.

With these attractive policies that make it easier for customers to switch to electric cars, the automotive market during the year-end season is expected to be extremely vibrant, with VinFast electric vehicles as the focal point.
