Chinese automotive brand GWM has unveiled its first-ever large-displacement motorcycle, the Souo S2000, marking a significant diversification into the two-wheeled market.

Despite their lack of experience in motorcycle manufacturing, GWM has truly impressed with their inaugural offering, surpassing expectations.

The Souo S2000 is powered by a flat-eight engine with a displacement of 2.0 liters, outdoing the 1.8-liter flat-six engine found in the Honda Goldwing. Its powertrain is paired with an 8-speed transmission, providing smooth speed control and potent power delivery.

Not only does the Souo S2000 excel in engine performance, but it also boasts larger dimensions. With a wheelbase of 1,810 mm, it surpasses the Goldwing by 115 mm, contributing to enhanced stability during long-distance rides. However, it is also 78 kg heavier than the Goldwing, tipping the scales at 461 kg.

The Souo S2000 is offered in three distinct variants: the base model S2000ST, the upscale S2000GL with a larger rear seat and luggage box, and the top-of-the-line S2000 Founder Edition that sports a sleek matte black and gold color scheme.

Standard features across the range include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, rear parking sensors, heated seats, and over-the-air update capability.

Pricing for the Souo S2000 in China starts from 218,800 to 288,800 Chinese Yuan (approximately 780 million to 1.02 billion VND), depending on the variant. Following this debut, Great Wall Motors is planning to introduce more motorcycle models, including both gasoline and electric options, with a focus on offering more affordable choices to cater to a wider range of customers.
