The seventh-generation Lexus ES made its debut in 2018. After six years, Lexus is preparing to launch a mid-life upgrade for this luxury sedan. Leaked images of the new Lexus ES in China attest to this.

From these images, it appears that the Lexus ES 2025 will feature only mild exterior design changes. It will sport the signature Lexus spindle grille, but with an updated pattern that aligns with other recent Lexus models such as the LBX, LM, RX, and NX.

Additionally, the LED headlights are now thinner and framed by a new ‘Z’-shaped LED daytime running light signature. Previously, this DRL signature was positioned below the headlights.

The Lexus ES 2025 features a revised front lighting signature.

At the rear, the Lexus ES 2025 sports new LED taillights that span the width of the vehicle. The internal design of the taillights has also been updated.

Inside the cabin, the luxury sedan gains several new features, most notably a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to other newer Lexus models. This larger screen has prompted a redesign of the central control panel.

The Lexus ES 2025 now boasts a large touchscreen display.

It appears that the row of buttons for climate control and the lower infotainment screen have been removed in this updated version. Additionally, the Lexus ES 250 gains a new digital instrument cluster and a redesigned gear selector.

Underpinning the luxurious sedan is the familiar TNGA-K platform, shared with the latest Toyota Camry. While specific engine details for the updated model have not been disclosed, it is likely that the Lexus ES 2025 will carry over the existing powertrain options.

Currently, the Lexus ES is offered in five different variants, depending on the market. These include the ES 200, powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 170 horsepower, and the ES 250 or ES 260, equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 204 horsepower.

The ES 300h hybrid variant combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 215 horsepower. Lastly, the range-topping ES 350 is propelled by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, delivering an impressive 300 horsepower.

The Lexus ES’s engines are mated to either a 6-speed, 8-speed automatic, or an eCVT transmission, depending on the variant. It is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The launch date for the updated Lexus ES has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be introduced sometime next year. Pricing details remain under wraps. In Vietnam, the Lexus ES is currently offered in three variants: the ES 250, ES 250 F Sport, and ES 300h, with prices ranging from 2.62 to 3.14 billion VND.
