The Volvo 240 2026, a stunning blend of classic and modern elements, is the brainchild of designer Jordan Rubinstein-Towler.

Popular in the 1980s, the Volvo 240 was one of the iconic car series from the Swedish automobile manufacturer. Over its nearly 20-year lifespan, the Volvo 240 sold an impressive 2.8 million units – a “massive” number for luxury car lines. To pay homage to this legend, an independent designer named Jordan Rubinstein-Towler unveiled the concept design of the Volvo 240 2026, blending classic lines with modern 21st-century technology.

In terms of design, the Volvo 240 2026 retains its original lines while incorporating modern touches. It features boxy headlights with “Thor’s Hammer” pixelated daytime running lights. Subtle aerodynamic details, such as air intakes and side gills, are seamlessly integrated, enhancing aerodynamic efficiency.

Jordan Rubinstein-Towler has crafted a minimalist interior for this fictional Volvo, incorporating advanced technology and sustainable materials. He strikes a delicate balance between nostalgia and innovation, envisioning a classically styled cabin without veering into gaudiness.

Unlike the infotainment screens of modern Volvo models, the 240 features a much thinner, traditional digital cockpit, arranged horizontally and accented with physical control buttons. The four-spoke steering wheel and fabric-covered seats with a Scandinavian feel are nods to Volvo’s legendary models.

The Volvo 240 2026 is designed as an electric vehicle, evident from its sealed grille and lack of exhaust pipes. Theoretically, this mid-size sedan could run on the SPA2 platform provided by Geely, shared with Volvo’s EX90 SUV, and be equipped with a powerful 111 kWh battery and two electric motors generating up to 510 horsepower.
