Subaru has confirmed that the Crosstrek will be making its way to Vietnam soon. Prior to this, several Subaru dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City had started taking reservations for this B+ sized SUV.

At the Vietnam Motor Show – VMS 2024, Subaru announced that the Subaru Crosstrek will be showcased at their exhibition booth. The vehicle will be available in two variants: the 2.0 i-S EyeSight and the 2.0 i-S EyeSight e-Boxer Hybrid, both imported directly from Japan.

As a product imported from Japan, the Subaru Crosstrek is expected to be priced no lower than VND 900 million. Previously, the Subaru Crosstrek was available in Vietnam under the name Subaru XV, also imported from Japan with a price tag of approximately VND 1.5 billion.

The Subaru Crosstrek measures 4,480 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm and a ground clearance of 200 mm. In terms of exterior design, the Subaru Crosstrek is said to bear a strong resemblance to its “older brother,” the Subaru Outback.

Under the hood, the Subaru Crosstrek 2.0 i-S EyeSight is equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine that delivers 154 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque.

On the other hand, the hybrid version employs a 2.0L engine producing 145 horsepower and a maximum torque of 188 Nm, combined with an electric motor to generate a total system output of 150 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque.

Competitors of the Subaru Crosstrek in the B/B+ SUV segment in Vietnam include the Toyota Corolla Cross (priced between VND 820 million and VND 905 million), Mazda CX-30 (VND 699 million to VND 749 million), Peugeot 2008 (VND 719 million to VND 769 million), Mitsubishi Xforce (VND 599 million to VND 705 million), Toyota Yaris Cross (VND 650 million to VND 765 million), Kia Seltos (VND 599 million to VND 799 million), and the Hyundai Creta (VND 599 million to VND 699 million).

Also at VMS 2024, Skoda will introduce the new generation of its D-sized SUV, the Kodiaq. Isuzu will showcase the facelifted version of its D-Max pickup truck, while Honda is expected to present the Honda Civic with a hybrid powertrain.
