Following the initial leak in China not long ago, clearer images of the upgraded Lexus ES luxury sedan have surfaced. These new photos were also taken in China, and it appears that these are the first Lexus ES 2025 models to arrive at dealerships in the country.

As suggested by the earlier leaks, the Lexus ES 2025 has received subtle enhancements to its exterior, particularly at the front. The signature Lexus spindle grille remains, but with a redesigned pattern similar to other recent Lexus models such as the LBX, LM, RX, and NX.

At the lower corners are additional rotary dials with small screens, while the traditional clock has been retained and positioned next to the infotainment screen.

Under the skin, the Lexus ES continues to utilize the TNGA-K platform shared with the Toyota Camry. Specific details about the powertrain options have not been released, but it is likely that the same engines from the previous model will be carried over.

Currently, the Lexus ES is offered with several engine choices, depending on the market. These include the ES 200 with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 170 horsepower, the ES 250 or ES 260 with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 204 horsepower, and the ES 300h hybrid that combines a 2.5-liter engine with an electric motor for a total output of 215 horsepower. The range-topping ES 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering 300 horsepower.

These engines are paired with either a six-speed, eight-speed automatic, or an eCVT transmission, depending on the variant. The Lexus ES also offers front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive options.

The updated Lexus ES is expected to make its official debut at the upcoming Guangzhou Auto Show in China, and these changes are likely to be implemented for the international market as well.
