The San Francisco-based technology company, Otherlab, has recently unveiled their innovative solar-powered scooter, the Lightfoot.

The Lightfoot boasts a unique design inspired by the classic Vespa scooter and the Volkswagen bus.

Equipped with a 48V battery pack and a capacity of 1.1 kWh, the Lightfoot can travel up to 60 km on a single charge. With a top speed of 32 km/h, it is perfect for navigating city streets and short-distance commutes.

Additionally, the scooter is fitted with two 120W solar panels on either side, enabling it to self-charge when parked in direct sunlight. For every hour of sunlight exposure, the Lightfoot can store enough energy to travel approximately 4.8 km. If a quicker charge is needed, a 600W integrated charger can be utilized.

But that’s not all; the Lightfoot also features a 2WD regenerative braking system, which recaptures energy during braking, further extending the vehicle’s range.

The Lightfoot can accommodate up to two passengers and is suitable for individuals ranging from 157.5 cm to 188 cm in height.

Nestled within the solar panels is a spacious 15 kg trunk, large enough to hold three grocery bags. 

The Lightfoot also features a 2.8-inch waterproof LCD screen that displays essential information such as battery life, current speed, and more.

This scooter is equipped with Lezyne headlights and taillights, hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear spring suspension, and a 120-decibel electric horn.

The Lightfoot is available for purchase at a price of $4,995 (approximately 127 million VND). Customers who place their orders now can expect delivery in early 2025.
