The all-new Audi A5L 2025 has just been unveiled by the German brand at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show. This long-wheelbase version of the Audi A5 is designed to cater to the needs of customers in the Chinese market.
Audi A5L 2025 boasts dimensions similar to the A7, with an overall length of 4,902 mm, a substantial 73 mm longer than the standard A5. Additionally, its wheelbase is 65 mm longer, offering a more spacious and comfortable interior.
The design of this long-wheelbase version remains true to the standard Audi A5, except for the traditional sedan-style trunk lid instead of the liftback design. Notable features on the new A5 include sharper LED headlights, sleek LED taillights, a refined single-frame grille, and large air intakes on the sides of the front bumper.
While Audi has not yet revealed the interior of the A5L, they have stated that the cabin has been upgraded to meet the demands of Chinese customers. It is expected to feature a digital instrument cluster measuring 11.9 inches, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and a 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger. The rest of the interior is likely to mirror the global model, with additional legroom for rear passengers.
The Audi A5 2025 is the first model to utilize Volkswagen Group’s new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) chassis. This platform is designed for rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles and can accommodate both conventional gasoline and hybrid powertrains. Audi has confirmed that the sedan will be equipped with the EA888 Evo5 hybrid system, consisting of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, but detailed specifications are yet to be released.
Similar to the recently launched Q6L E-tron SUV, the Audi A5L will be produced in China at the Audi-FAW joint venture facility. Pricing details for this sedan have not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.
