Starting November 19, 2024, Honda Vietnam will launch a recall campaign for the imported and officially distributed CR-V e:HEV RS to inspect for potential fuel leaks and gasoline odors from the high-pressure fuel pump during engine operation.

According to Honda Vietnam, a total of 2,695 CR-V e:HEV RS vehicles are affected by this recall. These vehicles were manufactured between August 24, 2023, and September 11, 2024, at the Thailand plant.

The purpose of this recall is to inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump on the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS. Honda asserts that no safety incidents related to this issue have been recorded in the Vietnamese market.

The company states that all owners of the affected CR-V e:HEV RS vehicles will be notified via mail and/or email and/or direct phone call based on the owner information registered in Honda Vietnam’s customer management system. Customers who receive the notification are advised to bring their vehicles to authorized Honda automobile distributors for inspection and replacement of the fuel pump if a leak is detected. The inspection will commence on November 25, 2024, and will take approximately 0.5 hours per vehicle.

This is the second recall campaign announced by Honda Vietnam in November 2024. Previously, Honda Vietnam also notified a recall campaign related to the repair of steering components for the 2023-2024 CR-V, 2021-2023 Civic, and 2023-2024 Civic Type-R. A total of 11,005 Honda automobiles were recalled in the campaign announced on November 6, 2024.

The aforementioned recall campaign aims to address an issue where the vehicles exhibit abnormal noises or vibrations when steering. According to Honda Vietnam, no safety incidents related to this issue have been recorded thus far.
