The Hongqi Guoya luxury sedan made its debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show in April this year. Fast forward to the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024, and the Hongqi brand brought the vehicle back for another showcase while also announcing its official price.

In the market closest to Vietnam, the Hongqi Guoya is offered in two variants, with prices starting from 1.4 million to 1.86 million Chinese yuan (approximately 4.9 to 6.51 billion Vietnamese dong). With this pricing, the Guoya is positioned as the flagship model of the Hongqi brand.

On the outside, the Guoya boasts many distinctive design features synonymous with the Hongqi brand. This is evident in the front grille area, which sports a large, chrome-accented grille reminiscent of a waterfall and exudes a Rolls-Royce-inspired style.

The front end of the Hongqi Guoya bears a resemblance to both Bentley and Rolls-Royce designs.

Flanking the grille are vertically oriented headlamps with a rounded design. The intricate diamond-like shape within the headlamps adds a touch of sophistication, and they are also capable of projecting information onto the road and alerting pedestrians.

Along the flanks, the Chinese sedan showcases a prominent character line that stretches from the headlamps to the taillights, complemented by chrome trim on the door sills. The 20-inch alloy wheels feature a multi-spoke classic design and are adorned with a yellow sunflower logo, a signature element of Hongqi vehicles.

The Hongqi Guoya boasts impressive dimensions, with a length of 5,353 mm, a width of 1,998 mm, a height of 1,511 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,260 mm. These measurements rival those of the long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Given its substantial size, the Guoya naturally offers a spacious interior. Similar to the exterior, the cabin blends modern luxury with classic styling cues.

Under the hood, the Hongqi Guoya offers two powertrain options. The first is a hybrid system comprising a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine and an electric motor, producing a combined output of 381 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. The second option is a hybrid setup with a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine and an electric motor, delivering 476 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque.

Both powertrains are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The V6-equipped model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, while the V8 version completes the same sprint in 4.3 seconds.

In the Chinese market, the Hongqi Guoya will compete against other large luxury sedans such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8, and BMW 7 Series.
