Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular and prevalent in Vietnam in recent years. However, the luxury electric car segment in the country is still dominated by German automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Porsche.
Below are three luxury electric car models with expensive price tags in Vietnam:
Porsche Taycan 2025: 4.62 – 9.51 billion VND
On October 17, Porsche officially introduced the Taycan 2025 electric sedan in Vietnam. This is the mid-life upgrade version of the Porsche Taycan, which was launched globally earlier in February.
In Vietnam, the Porsche Taycan has a total of eight versions, with prices ranging from 4.62 to 9.51 billion VND.
The Porsche Taycan is equipped with modern conveniences such as a 16.8-inch curved screen behind the steering wheel and a 10.9-inch infotainment screen placed above an 8.4-inch touchscreen in the center console.
The car features a standard drive mode selector dial integrated into the steering wheel. The Turbo versions will have Turbonite-colored logos.
The Porsche Taycan 2025 retains the configuration of a single electric motor with rear-wheel drive on the base models and two electric motors on the 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S versions, paired with all-wheel drive.
The base models will take 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.
On the other hand, the top-of-the-line Taycan Turbo GT has been upgraded from 750 horsepower to 938 horsepower. This power enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, making it the fastest commercial model of Porsche.
The Porsche Taycan supports a maximum charging power of 320 kW and can charge 10-80% of the battery in 18 minutes.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV: 7.61 billion VND
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV was launched in the Vietnamese market on October 10, within the framework of The Avantgarde 2024 exhibition in Hanoi. The car is distributed in a single version with a price of 7.61 billion VND. This is the first all-electric Maybach model in Vietnam.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV boasts a cabin filled with technology and amenities. The highlight of the interior is the standard MBUX Hyperscreen, designed exclusively for the Mercedes-Maybach line, which includes: a 12.3-inch TFT screen behind the steering wheel, a 17.7-inch OLED touchscreen for entertainment, and a 12.3-inch OLED touchscreen for the passenger seat. The two 11.6-inch screens for the rear seats support wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.
The car also features a premium air conditioning, air filtration, and fine dust filtration system. Two entertainment screens for the rear seats. Electrically operated openable and closable charging ports. A 15-speaker Burmester sound system. The signature lighting system of the German automaker with 253 independent LED bulbs and 64 lighting effect options.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is equipped with two electric motors on the front and rear axles, producing 658 horsepower and 955 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h.
The vehicle is also fitted with a Lithium-ion battery system with a capacity of 118kWh, offering a range of up to 611 km on a single charge. The DC charging system allows charging from 10-80% in just 31 minutes, while AC charging takes over 6 hours for a full charge.
Audi e-tron GT Quattro: 3.95 – 4.99 billion VND
Audi is one of the luxury automakers that introduced pure electric cars in Vietnam quite early. Since July 2022, Audi has launched the e-tron GT quattro standard model.
The Audi e-tron GT quattro is powered by two electric motors mounted on each axle, producing 476 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. The motors are paired with a 2-speed automatic transmission.
The car also features an “Over Boost” function that temporarily increases the power to 530 horsepower and 640 Nm of torque.
The Audi e-tron GT Quattro is equipped with an 85 kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 488 km on a full charge. According to test results, the e-tron GT quattro accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 245 km/h.
Nearly a year later, in April 2023, Audi introduced the high-performance RS e-tron GT version. Compared to the standard model, the Audi e-tron RS GT does not differ much in terms of exterior and interior, but it offers improved performance.
Under the hood of the Audi e-tron RS GT is an electric motor that produces 598 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque. In Boost mode, the car can generate up to 646 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque.
The RS e-tron GT can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds (0.8 seconds faster than the standard model) and has a range of up to 472 km on a single charge.
In Vietnam, the Audi e-tron GT Quattro and Audi RS e-tron GT are priced at 3.95 and 4.99 billion VND, respectively.
