There are rumors that Toyota is soon to introduce a new version of the Fortuner in Vietnam, with an official announcement expected from the automaker.
Currently, the Toyota Fortuner only imports the regular gasoline engine models from Indonesia. However, in December, Toyota will import the Legender gasoline engine variant with both one- and two-bridge options to Vietnam. Sales consultants share that the car is available for immediate delivery, but quantities are limited.
It is highly likely that the new version will be equipped with a 2.694cc gasoline engine, delivering 164 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. The engine will continue to be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The price of the new Legender gasoline model is expected to be slightly higher than that of the current diesel version. Specifically, the Fortuner Legender 2.7L 4×2 one-bridge is anticipated to start at VND 1,185 billion. Meanwhile, the Fortuner Legender 2.7L 4×4 two-bridge is expected to reach VND 1,395 billion.
Customers opting for the pearl white paint job will incur an additional cost of VND 8 million, and VND 12 million for pearl white with a black roof.
Aside from the engine tweaks, the rest of the specifications of the new Toyota Fortuner remain unchanged.
The interior of the vehicle continues to offer a host of convenient features, including: a 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated function buttons, a combination of two traditional gauges and a 4.2-inch TFT display, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that wirelessly connects to phones, and an 11-speaker JBL sound system.
The cabin boasts full leather upholstery, with the front seats offering 8-way electric adjustment, the second row capable of 60:40 folding, and the third row featuring a 50:50 split-folding design.
In terms of safety, the new Toyota Fortuner retains the Toyota Safety Sense package, encompassing features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), to name a few.
