The one-of-a-kind Koenigsegg CCX supercar, recently spotted at a vehicle registration center in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, has finally acquired its license plate after four years of arrival in Vietnam, as seen in the circulated images on social media. The distinctive red hypercar, owned by a businessman from Haiphong, bears the plate number 15A-697.79.
There are currently only two Koenigseggs in Vietnam: the Regera, owned by tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh, and the CXX, owned by the low-profile Haiphong entrepreneur. The Koenigsegg CCX, which arrived in Vietnam in 2020 and has been residing in Haiphong, made an appearance at a supercar garage in District 7 in July 2022. Despite being owned by the Haiphong businessman, the hypercar has been based in Ho Chi Minh City for the past two years.
The million-dollar Koenigsegg CCX was purchased from the Al Ain Class Motors dealership in Dubai, the same source as Minh “Nhua” and Hoang Kim Khanh’s Pagani Huayra and McLaren Senna supercars.
Koenigsegg produced only 47 CCX models, including 30 standard versions and the rest modified into special editions such as the CCXR, CCX/CCXR Special Edition, and Trevita. The Haiphong businessman’s hypercar, with chassis number #53, was manufactured in 2008 and is the only red CCX in existence. When first introduced, the Koenigsegg CCX was priced at 700,000 USD (~ 17.79 billion VND).
Koenigsegg CCX boasts a lightweight construction with a carbon fiber and aluminum exterior. Its scissor-style doors slide forward instead of the traditional vertical lift seen in Lamborghini supercars.
The car’s targa top is entirely hand-operated and stored in front of the luggage compartment, requiring a meticulous and laborious process for both installation and removal.
The interior of the hypercar features a striking red and black color scheme, matching its exterior. Carbon fiber and premium leather are predominantly used throughout the cabin, with a simple steering wheel devoid of excessive physical buttons. The sports seats have carbon fiber frames and handcrafted Koenigsegg logo headrests.
The Koenigsegg CCX‘s heart is an 800-horsepower, supercharged 4.7L V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 402 km/h.
