The Ford Territory is an impressive SUV, and this image showcases its sleek and modern design. It’s a vehicle that offers both style and substance, capturing the essence of contemporary automotive engineering.

The Vietnamese automotive market witnessed a strong performance in the third quarter, with a significant growth in sales. The total number of vehicles sold reached 36,585, reflecting a remarkable 45% increase compared to the previous month and a 44% surge from the same period last year.

The compact SUV segment, known as SUV C, also experienced a boom in sales, with 4,703 units sold. This month marked the best performance for this group so far this year.

Honda CR-V Surges Ahead, While Mazda CX-5 Maintains Dominance

In September, the Mazda CX-5 continued its reign as the top-selling model, with 1,856 units sold. This consistent performance secured its position as one of the best-selling vehicles in the market. Over the past nine months, Thaco Vietnam has sold a total of 9,240 CX-5s, solidifying its popularity.

The success of the Mazda CX-5 can be attributed to its competitive pricing strategy. While discounts are not frequently offered, the model’s price range of VND 749 million to VND 979 million, along with a diverse set of versions, has proven appealing to Vietnamese consumers.

Honda CR-V also had a successful September, recording its highest monthly sales with a total of 919 units sold. Among these, 219 were the hybrid variant. Compared to the previous month, the CR-V’s sales surged by over 215%, propelling it to the second best-selling model in the segment, surpassing the Ford Territory.

During September, Honda offered significant discounts of up to VND 80 million on the G, L, and L AWD versions of the CR-V. This promotional strategy likely contributed to the impressive sales performance. Currently, Honda dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City are offering discounts ranging from VND 10 million to VND 20 million, depending on the version, as a separate promotional campaign.

The Ford Territory maintained its strong performance, with 822 units sold in September, representing a 42.7% increase from the previous month. In the first nine months of the year, Ford Vietnam sold a total of 5,084 Territories, securing its position as the second best-selling model in the segment.

In October, Ford is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for the Territory, in addition to the government’s support for registration fees. This results in a significant savings of VND 79 million to VND 92 million for customers. The Territory is currently available in Vietnam with four versions, priced between VND 799 million and VND 929 million.

Mitsubishi Outlander Struggles to Keep Up

Despite various promotional programs, the Mitsubishi Outlander failed to gain traction, remaining at the bottom of the sales ranking. In September, Mitsubishi sold 198 Outlanders, an 8.7% decrease compared to the previous month. It was the only model in the compact SUV segment to experience a decline in sales during the final month of the third quarter.

As a domestically assembled vehicle, the Outlander continues to benefit from the government’s 50% discount on registration fees in October. Additionally, customers who purchase the vehicle during this period will receive a 360-degree camera and a fuel voucher, totaling VND 40 million in value. The Mitsubishi Outlander is currently offered in Vietnam with three versions, priced from VND 950 million to VND 1.1 billion.

The Kia Sportage showcases its sleek and modern design, offering both style and versatility.

The Kia Sportage nearly doubled its sales performance from the previous month, with 407 units sold. Over the past nine months, Thaco Vietnam has sold a total of 1,925 Sportages. In Vietnam, the Sportage is available in eight different versions, with prices ranging from VND 799 million to VND 999 million.

Hyundai Tucson’s previous model sold 495 units in September, an increase of 70 units from the previous month. This performance is likely attributed to clearance promotions offered by the brand and its dealerships towards the end of the third quarter.

On October 9, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson was unveiled, featuring a similar exterior and engine to its predecessor. However, the highlight of this new model lies in its cabin, which showcases a design almost identical to that of its “older brother,” the Santa Fe 2024, introduced not long ago.

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson is priced between VND 769 million and VND 979 million, with four versions available. This pricing strategy is more approachable compared to the initial launch prices of its predecessor in 2022, which ranged from VND 825 billion to VND 1.02 billion.
