Denza is a premium NEV brand established in 2011 by BYD and Mercedes-Benz. As of September 2024, BYD holds 100% ownership of Denza. The luxury brand’s lineup includes 5 vehicles. The newly launched Denza N9 SUV will become the brand’s flagship SUV. It will also aid Denza’s overseas expansion, as seen in the UK.

About the Denza N9

Denza previously brought its MPV, the D9, to Vietnam in October for the VMS 2024. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if the BYD sub-brand will soon have an official dealership in the country, and the new N9 will be introduced.

The Denza N9 is a large, leading crossover from BYD, with dimensions including a length, width, and height of 5,258/2,030/1,830 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. To be clear, it’s slightly longer than the 2024 Range Rover. The Denza N9 rides on 21- or 22-inch wheels.

The PHEV variant of the Denza N9 utilizes a combination of three electric motors producing 680 kW (911 hp) and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generating 152 kW (204 hp).

The vehicle is equipped with a 47 kWh LFP battery pack, offering an all-electric range of 165 km (CLTC). Its top speed is 230 km/h. The Denza N9 will also have a BEV variant with three electric motors producing 710 kW (951 hp). Currently, there is no information available regarding the battery pack size.

Denza N9 Interior

The interior of the Denza N9 follows the brand’s latest design language, as seen in the Z9 and Z9 GT models. The N9’s center dashboard features a three-screen layout with a large 17.3-inch touchscreen. A 13.2-inch LCD instrument cluster sits behind the D-shaped steering wheel. Another 13.2-inch screen is positioned for the front passenger.

The Denza N9’s center tunnel features a minimalist style with two wireless charging pads, a block of physical buttons, and a hidden compartment. The front seats offer active side support. The front passenger seat supports a zero-gravity mode.

The second row of the Denza N9 features two independent captain’s chairs that can be folded flat to form a comfortable bed for long journeys.

The second-row passenger seats are equipped with a 17.1-inch roof-mounted screen and two foldable illuminated mirrors. Additionally, there are two foldablesection foldable tables capable of withstanding weights of up to 10 kg.

Another premium feature of the Denza N9 is the 11.5-liter storage box with heating and cooling functions hidden within the center tunnel. It operates within a temperature range of -6 to +50 degrees Celsius.

The third row of the Denza N9 offers two seats. Thus, this large SUV accommodates six people in a 2+2+2 configuration. There isn’t much to mention about the third row, except for the provision of two cup holders and four USB ports.

Pricing

The Denza N9 will enter the Chinese market in early 2025, with a starting price of over 500,000 RMB (USD 68,950). It will also be sold in overseas markets. We reiterate that BYD aims to launch the Denza brand in Europe next year, with the Denza Z9 GT as the introductory model.
