Toyota Unveils the New GR Corolla 8AT AWD in Southeast Asia

The Japanese automaker has recently taken the wraps off its latest GR Corolla 8AT AWD in the region, with a price tag of 4,199,000 baht (approximately 3.1 billion VND) for the fully imported model.

The Toyota Corolla GR has been developed by the Toyota Gazoo Racing team as a direct rival to the Volkswagen Golf R and Honda Civic Type R.

This performance-focused vehicle boasts impressive dimensions: 4,408 mm in length, 1,851 mm in width, and 1,479 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,640 mm.

The Toyota GR Corolla 2025 stands out with its refined exterior, particularly the redesigned front bumper that exudes a sportier and more aggressive stance. The enlarged grille and larger air intakes not only enhance the vehicle’s aesthetics but also improve engine and brake cooling.

In addition to the front bumper, the GR Corolla 2025 also features optimized side skirts that reduce air resistance, while the redesigned rear spoiler improves downforce at high speeds. These enhancements not only elevate the vehicle’s sporty appearance but also significantly improve its aerodynamic efficiency, contributing to its overall dynamic performance.

For the new model, Toyota has introduced two new exterior color options: EMOTIONAL RED II and Black. However, these premium colors come at an additional cost of 250,000 Baht (approximately 184.8 million VND).

Step inside the Toyota Corolla GR 2025, and you’ll find a host of convenient features, including black leather and suede-trimmed seats and a wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto-compatible infotainment system.

Under the hood, the GR Corolla is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 300 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm. This potent powertrain is mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

The GR Corolla 2025 has been fine-tuned with a revised suspension system, featuring Rebound Spring coils for both the front and rear shocks, along with a Torsen LSD Limited Slip differential, ensuring an engaging driving experience.
