According to an announcement by Kia, a brand new CUV named Kia Syros will be unveiled on December 19th in India. Positioned above the Sonet and below the Seltos, the Syros is the latest addition to the Korean brand’s range.
Autocar India reports that the Kia Syros will offer two engine options. The first is a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 115 horsepower and 250Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
The second option is a 1.0L turbocharged gasoline engine, generating 120 horsepower and 172Nm of torque. This variant comes with a 7-speed DCT automatic or a manual transmission. Notably, the 1.2L gasoline engine found in the Sonet will not be available for the Syros.
Kia Syros will also introduce an electric version at a later date, with a significantly higher price tag compared to its combustion engine counterparts.
Deliveries of the Kia Syros are expected to begin in late January or early February next year, with a starting price of approximately 250 million VND. The launch of the Syros in markets outside of India is anticipated for the end of next year.
