Kia Syros: The Latest Addition to Kia’s Lineup of Affordable Compact CUVs, Launching in Late December

According to an announcement by Kia, the all-new CUV named Kia Syros will be unveiled on December 19 in India. Positioned above the Sonet and below the Seltos, the Syros is a welcome addition to the Korean brand’s range.

Autocar India reports that the Kia Syros will offer two engine options. The first is a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 115 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, depending on the variant.

The second option is a turbocharged 1.0L gasoline engine, generating 120 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque. This variant comes with a 7-speed DCT automatic or a manual transmission. Notably, the 1.2L gasoline engine offered on the Sonet will not be available on the Syros.

Kia Syros will also have an electric version, which is expected to launch at a later date. The price of the electric variant is likely to be significantly higher than that of the internal combustion engine models.

Deliveries of the Kia Syros are anticipated to begin in late January or early February of next year, with estimated pricing starting at 250 million VND. The launch of the Syros in markets outside of India is expected to take place towards the end of next year.
