Following Singapore and Thailand, Malaysia is the next market in Southeast Asia to welcome the all-electric Porsche Macan EV.
The SUV is offered in four variants: Macan, Macan 4, 4S, and Turbo, with prices ranging from $96,746 to $142,869 (approximately 2.45 to 3.6 billion VND).
The Macan EV is developed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, similar to the Audi Q6 e-Tron. Its length, width, and height measure 4,786 x 1,938 x 1,622 mm, respectively. Compared to the gasoline-powered Macan, the EV version is slightly longer and wider but marginally shorter in height.
It features a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch central display, and a matching 10.9-inch passenger-side screen. The central display integrates YouTube and TikTok and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV comes standard with a 14-speaker Bose sound system, while the high-end version boasts a 21-speaker Burmester setup.
The four variants of the Macan EV differ in engine performance and range. Notably, the Turbo variant delivers an impressive 630 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,130 Nm. It is equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack and supports fast DC charging at 270 kW, allowing a quick 10-80% charge in just 21 minutes. According to the manufacturer, the Macan 4 offers a range of 591 km, while the Macan Turbo can go up to 613 km on a single charge.
With a starting price of 2.45 billion VND, the Porsche Macan EV is only slightly more expensive than its gasoline-powered counterpart but offers superior performance and acceleration. It is not yet clear when this model will be officially launched in the Vietnamese market. If introduced, the Macan EV will be the brand’s new flagship all-electric SUV, positioned in the same price range as the Audi Q6 e-tron, BMW IX3, IX4, or Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
