The all-electric Volvo EX90 CUV has recently been registered on China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) portal, offering a glimpse into the upcoming luxury electric vehicle.

According to the listing, the Volvo EX90 manufactured in China boasts a design akin to its international counterpart. This electric CUV embodies the iconic “Scandinavian” style that the Swedish automaker is renowned for. The front of the vehicle is accentuated by a distinctive “T”-shaped LED headlight arrangement, exuding modernity and technological sophistication. Meanwhile, the rear features the signature “L”-shaped taillights, with the addition of “Volvo Asia Pacific” lettering to emphasize its regional identity.

Built upon Volvo’s exclusive SPA2 platform, the EX90 tailored for the Chinese market exhibits dimensions of 5037 mm in length, 1964 mm in width, and 1747 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2985 mm. Notably, this version surpasses its international counterparts by 84 mm in overall length.

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a contemporary and opulent cabin, featuring a 14.5-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system and an LCD instrument cluster. Furthermore, this CUV is anticipated to incorporate a host of intelligent ADAS capabilities, ensuring Level 3 autonomous driving functionality.

In terms of performance, the Volvo EX90 destined for the Chinese market offers a choice of two powertrain configurations. The standard version employs a dual-motor setup, with 232 horsepower at the front and 170 horsepower at the rear. The high-performance variant builds on this foundation, delivering an impressive 241 horsepower and 268 horsepower to the front and rear axles, respectively. Coupled with this electric motor system is an 111 kWh battery pack, enabling a substantial driving range of up to 730 kilometers on a single charge.

The Volvo EX90 for the Chinese market is expected to debut in 2025, with pricing details yet to be disclosed.
